Airgas considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.\nWork Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm\nRecruiter: Tammie Stacye/\nThe Production Operator II will be responsible for safely handling and filling gas products into liquid, medical, and high-pressure gas cylinders in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and meeting the standard operating procedures of Airgas.\nPerforming various duties in the plant, including monitoring equipment to fill industrial gas mixes, cryogenic gases, and medical gas products, and performing both level 1 & 2 duties.\nInspects cylinders prior to filling, following standard procedures as required by government, Airgas, and distributor standards. Conducts a variety of Safety checks per procedures, such as odor tests and checking caps and valves.\nAnalyzes products for purity and correct mixtures.\nHandles high-pressure, medical, and liquid cylinders. Prepares high-pressure cylinders and cryogenic vessels for filling. Attaches to the manifold and evacuates cylinders to eliminate all possible contaminants.\nFills cylinders by pressure and weight, per regulations and standards.\nAssists with the loading and unloading of cylinders on and off pallets and tractor trailers. Operates a forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.\nManages paperwork to DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards. Completes quality control sheets as required.\nUnderstands hazards of various gases, sizes, and contents of cylinders by reading and interpreting cylinder labels and the color-coding of tanks. Accurately labels cylinders.\nCompliance with all government and company standards for safely handling hazardous materials/cylinder gases.\nMaintains a neat, clean, and orderly plant appearance.\nAll employees are expected to perform any reasonable work request that falls within the qualifications but not specifically described.\n________________________\nAre you a MATCH?\nRequired Qualifications:\nAbility to complete training and achieve certifications for filling all cryogenic liquids and pure industrial gases.\nAbility to complete FDA, Food Grade, and CGMP Training and achieve certifications\nMust be able to operate forklift and maintain appropriate forklift certifications.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.\nMust be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.\nExcellent customer service skills.\nAbility to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.\nStrong level of attention to detail.\nAbility to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.\nCandidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.
