The Zone Production Engineer will be a key player in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our production facilities. This individual will be responsible for troubleshooting operational issues, optimizing processes, managing small projects, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the zone.\nSafety & Compliance\nSupports and complies with all safety, health, and environmental procedures directed by local and corporate personnel and safety departments.\nSupports and complies with all process safety management and risk management plan practices.\nSupports operation permit reporting and monitoring requirements, in compliance with federal, state and local rules and regulations.\nSupports all personnel policies directed by local and corporate personnel.\nProject Management & Engineering Design\nDefine, design, specify, control costs and implement projects generated by a technical problem or unique plant requirement to improve safety, reliability, or efficiency.\nDesigns plant processes consisting of instruments, controls, engines, machines, and mechanical, thermal, hydraulic, or heat transfer systems, utilizing and applying knowledge of engineering principles.\nDirects, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within the area of assigned responsibility.\nDevelops economic cost justification for capital improvements.\nProcess Optimization & Efficiency\nRecommends changes in process to effect the greatest economy in production methods and material cost.\nEvaluates field installations and recommends design modifications to eliminate malfunctions and improve efficiency.\nSets up and conducts tests of complete units under operational conditions and analyzes test results in relation to design specifications, modifies or adjusts equipment to meet specifications.\nPlans utilization of production facilities to improve efficiency of operations.\nTechnical & Operational Support\nProvides technical support for plant production and maintenance as required.\nProvides on-call assistance to plant personnel.\nSupports plant DCS (Distributed Control System) system.\nAdministrative & Professional Development\nMakes a report of plant engineering activities to the Plant Manager.\nStudies engineering and technical publications to keep abreast of technological changes and development in industry.\nMay perform special tasks as requested by Plant Manager and Corporate officials.\n________________________\nAre you a MATCH?\nRequired Education:\nBachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred)\nRequired Length & Type of Experience:\n3 years of operational or engineering experience required\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:\nSolution-oriented, with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills\nAbility to gain technical knowledge in operation and maintenance of Air Separation, CO₂, VSA and Onsite N2/O2 Plants.\nGood verbal and written communication skills\nAbility to work with all levels of personnel\nAbility to perform under stress and time constraints\nComfortable in both Corporate and Field environments\nProblem solving ability necessary to define, design, specify, control costs and implement projects generated by a technical problem or unique customer or field production requirement. \nDemonstrates personal integrity and transparency.\nDemonstrates ability to make sound judgment, timely decisions, manage multiple tasks and prioritize/delegate work effectively.\nDemonstrates ability to effectively communicate with project stakeholders; fluent in English - both written and spoken.\nAbility to write routine business reports and business correspondence\nAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and/or customers. \nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. \nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals using the English language.\n________________________\nBenefits\nWe care about and support our Airgas Families.
