Be able to explain them to customers.\n\nDevelop an understanding of the types of customer inquiries and how to satisfactorily resolve customer complaints.\n\nOperate in a safe manner and promote safety with associates and customers.\n\nMust be willing and able to travel overnight 50% - 60%.\n\nLeverage manufacturing knowledge and technical expertise to win competitive business.\n\nConduct executive presentations to business owners and decision makers to WIN Purchase Sales Agreements.\n\nStrategize with Account Managers, New Business Development, District Managers, and Area Vice President to WIN new business.\n\nConduct Welding Efficiency Analysis and produce reports showing cost savings opportunities for competitive accounts.\n\nGuide customers through cost savings projects and show realized cost reductions.\n\nUtilize problem solving skills and technical expertise to satisfy customers.\n\nIdentify leads and opportunities for capturing business and growth.\n\nWork with the Advanced Manufacturing team to ensure methods, approach and applications are the best for the customer’s application.\n\n________________________\nAre you a MATCH?\nRequired Qualifications:\nPrevious sales experience required.\n\nMinimum 4 - 5 years in the welding industry.\n\nAWS Certified Welding Sales Representative (CWSR).\n\nAssociate Degree Welding (AAS), Military Weld training, or Bachelor's degree (Engineering) or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n\nEstablished track record as a producer may supersede educational requirements.\n\nTQM, Lean, or Six Sigma background.\n\nStrong interest in welding processes and applications.\n\nBasic knowledge and understanding of welding.\n\nSelf-motivated and results/action oriented.\n\nGood presentation and communication skills.\n\nAbility to apply mathematical formulas for cost analysis.\n\nTeam player with a positive attitude.\n\nSelf-motivated, success-oriented, mechanically, technically, and detail-oriented.\n\nAbility to be flexible and adaptable.\n\nProficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.\n\nAbility to read and interpret various documents.\n\nAbility to write reports and correspondence.\n\nAbility to speak effectively before groups.\n\nBasic math skills.\n\nAbility to solve practical problems.\n\nAbility to interpret instructions.\n\nMust pass AWS Certified Welding Sales Rep exam.\n\nMembership in relevant organizations (AWS, ASM, ASNT, ASQ, ASME, SME) desirable.\n\nValid driver's license.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nTechnical sales preferred.\n\nA history of advancing sales growth and achieving consistent year-over-year progress.\n\nExperience in sales team management with a focus on sustainable growth.\n\nA natural ability to prioritize and multitask effectively.\n\nSAP experience preferred.\n\nBasic knowledge and understanding of welding.\n\n________________________\nBenefits\nWe care about and support our Airgas Families.
