Modern and intuitive avionics. Our hardware and software are designed from the ground up using state-of-the-art UI/UX technology to create beautiful and safe avionics.

Airhart

Most airplanes today still use avionics designed around decades-old assumptions. We think that's one of the biggest reasons general aviation remains difficult to learn and intimidating to use.

We're building an integrated avionics platform that makes flying dramatically simpler and safer, with the long-term goal of making personal flight accessible to far more people.

Our team includes engineers from companies like SpaceX and pilots who have spent thousands of hours flying existing systems. Today we're building and flight testing our first generation avionics, and every box, harness, and installation you build will eventually fly in a real airplane.

The Role

We're looking for someone who enjoys building exceptional hardware with their hands.

This isn't a traditional avionics maintenance job. You'll work alongside electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineers to build brand-new avionics systems from prototype through production.

One week you might be assembling flight computers and display units. The next you could be building aircraft wiring harnesses, integrating hardware into an airplane, or helping engineers troubleshoot a prototype on the bench.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, enjoys solving practical problems, and wants to be deeply involved in building hardware that flies.

What You'll Do

  • Assemble avionics computers, displays, and other electromechanical assemblies.
  • Build, terminate, label, and verify aircraft wire harnesses and cable assemblies.
  • Perform mechanical assembly, rework, and final integration of avionics hardware.
  • Support prototype builds, engineering development, and low-rate production.
  • Install and integrate avionics systems into aircraft and engineering test platforms.
  • Perform electrical continuity checks, basic functional testing, and hardware inspections.
  • Identify build issues and work directly with engineers to improve assembly quality and manufacturability.
  • Help maintain an organized, efficient, and safe production shop.
  • Continuously improve assembly processes, tooling, and documentation.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience assembling electronics, avionics, aerospace, robotics, automotive, or other electromechanical products.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience with wire harness fabrication, connector termination, crimping, soldering, and precision mechanical assembly.
  • Comfortable reading assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical issues during assembly.
  • Takes pride in producing clean, organized, high-quality work.

We're much more interested in craftsmanship, curiosity, and a desire to learn than whether you've worked specifically in aviation.

Nice to Have

  • Aircraft avionics installation experience.
  • FAA A&P certificate.
  • IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification.
  • Experience with D-Sub, circular, coaxial, or MIL-spec connectors.
  • Experience supporting prototype hardware development.

Your First 90 Days

First 30 days

  • Learn our avionics architecture, assembly processes, and quality standards.
  • Build avionics assemblies and harnesses alongside experienced team members.
  • Become familiar with our production tools, documentation, and build procedures.

Within 60 days

  • Independently assemble production hardware and aircraft harnesses.
  • Support prototype integration and engineering builds.
  • Identify and implement improvements to assembly processes or tooling.

Within 90 days

  • Become a trusted builder for our avionics hardware and aircraft integration work.
  • Help train new team members on assembly procedures as needed.
  • Deliver consistently high-quality hardware that is ready for testing and flight.

Why This Role Matters

The quality of every Airhart avionics system starts on the bench.

The hardware you build will be installed into aircraft, tested in flight, and trusted by pilots. You'll work side-by-side with the engineers who designed it, helping transform prototypes into reliable products that make flying dramatically safer and easier.
