We think that’s one of the biggest reasons general aviation remains difficult to learn and intimidating to use.\nWe’re building an integrated avionics platform that makes flying dramatically simpler and safer, with the long-term goal of making personal flight accessible to far more people.\nOur team includes engineers from companies like SpaceX and pilots who have spent thousands of hours flying existing systems. We’ve experienced firsthand how difficult aircraft are to build and operate, and we’re designing both the product and the company differently from the ground up.\nToday we’re shipping our first generation avionics system into experimental aircraft. That means every manufacturing decision you make directly affects something that will eventually fly.\nThe Role\nWe're looking for an electrical engineer who enjoys building hardware that actually works-not just designing it.\nOur avionics platform consists of flight computers, displays, engine monitoring systems, power electronics, networking hardware, sensor interfaces, and fly-by-wire electronics. As an Electrical Engineer, you'll own one or more of these boards throughout their lifecycle.\nYou'll spend as much time in the lab as you do in CAD. One day you might be tracking down a difficult signal integrity issue on a prototype. The next you could be updating a design to improve manufacturability, validating a hardware fix, or starting the schematic for an entirely new board.\nThis is an excellent role for someone with roughly 1-2 years of industry experience-or an exceptional new graduate who has already designed, assembled, and debugged complex PCBs through internships, Formula SAE, CubeSat, rocketry, robotics, or other substantial engineering projects.\nWhat You'll Do\nOwn one or more avionics PCBAs from prototype through production.\nBring up new hardware and verify circuit operation.\nDebug electrical issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and other lab equipment.\nWork with firmware engineers to validate new hardware and diagnose system-level issues.\nUpdate schematics and layouts to improve reliability, manufacturability, cost, and performance.\nSupport prototype builds and work directly with manufacturing to resolve production issues.\nReview test results and determine root causes of hardware failures.\nDesign and validate simple test setups for hardware verification.\nAs you grow, take ownership of clean-sheet designs for new avionics hardware.\nWhat We're Looking For\nApproximately 1-3 years of professional electrical engineering experience developing electronics hardware.\nOR\nA recent graduate with exceptional hands-on hardware experience through internships or major engineering projects.\nWe're looking for people who have built real hardware-not just simulated it.\nYou should have experience with several of the following:\nSchematic capture and PCB design.\nBoard bring-up and hardware debugging.\nMicrocontrollers and embedded systems.\nDigital interfaces such as SPI, I²C, UART, CAN, or Ethernet.\nReading datasheets and selecting components.\nLaboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and logic analyzers.\nMost importantly, you're excited to learn and become the technical owner of increasingly complex hardware.\nNice to Have\nAltium Designer experience.\nMulti-layer PCB layout.\nMixed-signal or power electronics.\nEMC or signal integrity exposure.\nAerospace, robotics, automotive, or embedded systems experience.\nExperience assembling or reworking prototype PCBs.\nYour First 90 Days\nFirst 30 days\nLearn our avionics architecture and hardware development process.\nBring up existing prototype boards and become familiar with our design tools and lab equipment.\nResolve your first hardware bug alongside senior engineers.\nWithin 60 days\nBecome the primary owner for one avionics PCBA.\nDesign and validate your first hardware revision.\nSupport manufacturing and test teams in resolving hardware issues.\nWithin 90 days\nIndependently own the electrical design and validation of one or more avionics assemblies.\nDeliver hardware improvements that increase reliability, manufacturability, or performance.\nBegin development of new hardware features or clean-sheet designs under mentorship.\nWhy This Role Matters\nEvery feature our pilots use ultimately runs through hardware that someone designed, debugged, and validated.\nYou'll be involved in every stage of that process-from the first prototype to production hardware installed in an aircraft. If you enjoy solving difficult hardware problems and want to see your designs fly, you'll have opportunities here that are hard to find anywhere else.","description_format":"text","description_chars":4720,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":1,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Aircraft Manufacturing","Avionics & Flight Control"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-08-20T17:14:00Z"},{"event":"expire","at":"2026-10-19T17:14:10Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":null,"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":135000,"is_top_pay":true},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/airhart-aeronautics-electrical-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/airhart-aeronautics-electrical-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-20T19:33:15Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":22552,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-21T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":46039},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=46039"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fairhart-aeronautics-electrical-engineer"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fairhart-aeronautics-electrical-engineer"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fairhart-aeronautics-electrical-engineer"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/airhart-aeronautics-electrical-engineer\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fairhart-aeronautics-electrical-engineer"}]}
