We are seeking an experienced and decisive Network Operations Duty Manager to lead our Network Operations Centre in Perth.

About the role

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Network Operations Duty Manager is responsible for overseeing Airnorth’s day-to-day flying operations and leading the Network Operations team.

This is a hands-on operational leadership role with a strong focus on safety, regulatory compliance, on-time performance, disruption management, cost control and customer outcomes. The position also acts as the primary operational contact for Airnorth’s charter clients.

The successful candidate will work predominantly Monday to Friday. However, flexibility is required to provide weekend coverage, work early starts or late finishes, and participate in an after-hours on-call arrangement where operationally required.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the daily operations of the Network Operations Centre.

  • Coordinate operational responses to delays, disruptions and other unplanned events.

  • Make timely operational decisions that balance safety, compliance, customer impact, operational integrity and cost.

  • Lead, support and allocate work across the Network Operations team.

  • Manage departmental rosters, leave, timesheets and staffing coverage.

  • Provide relief coverage as a Network Operations Supervisor or Controller when required.

  • Oversee crew rostering and ensure flights are appropriately crewed in accordance with regulatory, legislative and industrial requirements.

  • Liaise with Flight Operations, Engineering, Maintenance Control, Ground Operations, Inflight Services, Commercial and other operational teams.

  • Act as the primary operational contact for charter clients during business hours and while on call.

  • Coordinate charter, wet lease and regular passenger transport operations from planning through to completion.

  • Manage disruption recovery arrangements, including sub-charter and cross-hire aircraft when required.

  • Maintain accurate operational information within AIMS, Envision and other relevant systems.

  • Monitor on-time performance and lead initiatives to improve operational outcomes.

  • Develop and maintain departmental manuals, procedures, training programs and charter briefings.

  • Support employee recruitment, training, performance and probation processes.

  • Manage departmental safety reports, hazards, investigations and audit actions.

  • Monitor departmental costs, invoices and purchase orders in accordance with company requirements.

About you

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Previous experience within airline operations, network operations or a comparable logistics environment.

  • Demonstrated experience leading employees in a fast-paced, operationally dependent environment.

  • A sound understanding of aviation regulations and operational requirements, including flight and duty time limitations and fatigue risk management.

  • Strong situational awareness and the ability to make sound decisions with limited information.

  • Excellent problem-solving, prioritisation and organisational skills.

  • The ability to remain calm and effective when managing disruptions and competing operational priorities.

  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.

  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple operational departments.

  • Competency in Microsoft Office and the ability to confidently use operational systems.

  • The ability to obtain and retain an Aviation Security Identification Card.

  • A Radio Operator Certificate and Dangerous Goods Certificate, or the ability to obtain them.

A relevant tertiary qualification and experience developing or delivering workplace training will be highly regarded.

  • Discounted travel opportunities.

  • Health insurance and gym membership discounts.

  • Access to an Employee Assistance Program.

  • Opportunities for professional development and career progression.
