The role supports safe and efficient delivery across HV/LV systems, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, and control panels while working closely with engineering, construction, and operations teams. This position offers the chance to contribute to a high-profile decarbonisation project with strong long-term prospects.\nKey Responsibilities\nPlan and coordinate commissioning activities in line with project schedules and construction milestones.\nEnsure commissioning readiness through close collaboration with engineering, construction and HSE teams.\nReview electrical drawings, procedures and technical documentation to support safe execution.\nLead commissioning electricians, technicians and subcontractors across site activities.\nProvide technical guidance, troubleshoot issues and drive timely resolution of defects.\nSupervise pre-commissioning, commissioning and energisation activities for HV/LV systems, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, substations and associated infrastructure.\nWitness, validate and document testing outcomes to ensure compliance with design and statutory requirements.\nPromote a strong safety culture through toolbox talks, permit-to-work compliance and safe work practices.\nPrepare commissioning dossiers, test records, handover documentation and progress reports.\nMonitor quality standards, verify installations and ensure successful project handover.\nRequired Education:\nElectrical Trade Certificate or Degree in Electrical Engineering\nRequired Experience:\nHV commissioning experience\nMinimum 10 years’ experience in electrical commissioning, ideally within iron ore or heavy industrial projects\nPrevious experience in FIFO roles and remote site operations\nExperience overseeing commissioning and energisation of electrical systems across mining or heavy industry environments\nRequired Skills:\nStrong knowledge of electrical systems, protection schemes, and commissioning practices in mining or heavy industry\nAbility to interpret electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, specifications, and technical documentation\nExperience supervising pre-commissioning checks and functional testing of HV/LV systems, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, and control panels\nAbility to troubleshoot faults and support safe, compliant system handover\nStrong leadership and team coordination skills across technicians, electricians, and subcontractors\nCommitment to health, safety, compliance, and quality assurance in remote site environments\nStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skills\nFamiliarity with mining infrastructure including HV distribution, substations, and conveyors\nPreferred Qualifications:\nWA Electrical License\nHV Switching Ticket\nAbout Airswift:\nAirswift is an international workforce solutions provider within the energy, process and infrastructure industries.
