The working environment includes both office-based engineering activity and regular time in an operating petrochemical facility. The role involves close collaboration with operations, maintenance, inspection, process engineering, project engineering, and other engineering disciplines.\nKey Responsibilities\nProvide day-to-day mechanical engineering support to operations and maintenance teams to help maintain safe and reliable unit performance.\n\nAct as the first point of contact for mechanical systems within the assigned production area, covering both rotating equipment and static equipment.\n\nMonitor the condition and performance of mechanical equipment through field walkthroughs, inspection activity, vibration review, oil analysis, and operating data assessment.\n\nIdentify, prioritise, and help resolve equipment threats and opportunities affecting reliability, integrity, and plant performance.\n\nSupport Management of Change activities, including technical design basis development, hazard review input, pre-startup safety review participation, and change close-out verification.\n\nDrive improvements to asset care strategies using reliability-centred maintenance principles and a consistent, structured approach.\n\nReview mechanical failures, investigate root causes, and develop robust corrective actions to prevent recurrence.\n\nContribute technical input to maintenance planning, turnaround scope development, commissioning activities, and mechanical equipment execution support.\n\nPrepare well-defined scopes for equipment changes and ensure alignment with applicable industry codes, standards, and engineering practices.\n\nSupport multi-year maintenance planning by identifying and prioritising equipment improvement opportunities that enhance reliability and asset integrity.\n\nQualifications & Experience\nEssential:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering, with mechanical engineering strongly preferred.\n\nEssential:\nMinimum five years of experience in a related manufacturing industry.\n\nEssential:\nProven experience with maintenance and reliability concepts, including engineering and maintenance processes.\n\nEssential:\nKnowledge of risk management, reliability-centred maintenance, Management of Change, and structured problem solving.\n\nEssential:\nExcellent troubleshooting, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.\n\nEssential:\nDemonstrated ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects and work independently with a high level of quality and attention to detail.\n\nEssential:\nLegal authorisation to work in the US on a full-time basis.\n\nDesirable:\nPrior experience supporting general-purpose static and/or rotating equipment.\n\nDesirable:\nPrior direct full-time experience in a refining or petrochemical manufacturing complex.\n\nDesirable:\nKnowledge of industry codes and standards and their application within refining and petrochemical environments.\n\n Desirable:\nCertified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification.\n\n Desirable:\nAbility to qualify for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.\n\nAbout the Company\nThis company is a major organisation in the petroleum sector, operating across exploration, production, industrial transformation, logistics, and marketing.
