A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Primary Design Engineer to join their team in Sydney to deliver complex electrical infrastructure projects across Australia.

Working within a collaborative engineering team, you will be involved in the design and delivery of high-voltage infrastructure projects from concept development through to detailed design and construction support. This role offers exposure to technically challenging projects, strong career development opportunities and the chance to work alongside experienced engineering professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare primary design deliverables for HV and EHV electrical infrastructure projects.
• Develop substation layouts, equipment arrangements and key design documentation.
• Produce technical specifications and support equipment selection activities.
• Contribute to design development across concept, preliminary and detailed design phases.
• Coordinate with internal engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.
• Participate in technical reviews and ensure designs meet project and regulatory requirements.
• Support construction and commissioning activities as required.
• Assist with project planning, risk identification and technical problem solving.
• Maintain high standards of quality, safety and technical compliance throughout project delivery.

About You

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience delivering primary design solutions within transmission, distribution, utilities or related infrastructure sectors.
• Understanding of HV and EHV substation design principles and primary plant systems.
• Experience preparing technical documentation and engineering reports.
• Knowledge of relevant Australian standards and industry practices.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Professional registration or progress toward registration will be highly regarded.
