This position will have a strong influence on technical excellence, asset integrity, and high-risk design decision-making across major capital and sustaining scopes.\nRequired Education:\nBachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Metallurgical Engineering or a closely related discipline, supported by extensive relevant industry experience.\nRequired Experience:\nExtensive experience in metallurgical and materials engineering within oil and gas, refining, gas processing, hydrogen, CCUS, and/or energy transition facilities.\nDemonstrated experience providing technical leadership on large, complex, multidisciplinary engineering projects.\nStrong background in asset life-cycle management, integrity management strategies, and resolution of complex technical issues.\nExperience supporting site activities, troubleshooting in-service issues, and providing field-based technical support in industrial environments.\nExperience working in data-centric engineering environments and digital project delivery models.\nRequired Skills:\nDeep expertise in ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, corrosion mechanisms and mitigation strategies, welding metallurgy, fabrication practices, failure analysis, and materials degradation.\nStrong capability in materials selection, corrosion control, equipment design criteria, material standards, welding specifications, fabrication requirements, and mill test report review.\nStrong working knowledge of applicable ASME, CSA, API, ASTM, and NACE/AMPP codes and standards.\nAbility to provide technical assurance, peer review, and governance across metallurgical and materials deliverables on high-risk and complex scopes.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nCollaborative approach across disciplines, project teams, and stakeholder groups.\nAbility to perform job walks and site inspections while wearing required personal protective equipment.\nRequired Certifications:\nEligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA (Required).\nRequired Location:\nCandidates must currently reside in Calgary, Alberta, or Edmonton, Alberta or within a reasonable commuting distance of Calgary or Edmonton.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nRelevant NACE/AMPP certification (Preferred).\nAbout Airswift:\nAirswift is an international workforce solutions provider within the energy, process and infrastructure industries.
