You will provide technical leadership, perform and review engineering calculations, select and specify mechanical equipment, and support projects through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead and independently deliver mechanical engineering scopes throughout the project lifecycle.\n\nReview Process Design Criteria, PFDs, mass balances and water balances and translate process requirements into mechanical equipment sizing and specifications.\n\nPerform and review calculations including:\nPipe sizing and pressure loss\n\nPump selection and NPSH checks\n\nHeat transfer\n\nPressure and vacuum design\n\nLead mechanical design activities and verify critical engineering calculations.\n\nSelect, size and specify mechanical equipment and systems.\n\nPrepare and review datasheets, technical specifications, calculations, reports and drawings.\n\nConduct vendor technical evaluations and review vendor documentation.\n\nProvide mechanical input into piping, structural, civil, electrical, instrumentation and process interfaces.\n\nEnsure designs comply with relevant Australian, AS/NZS and international standards and codes.\n\nSupport equipment procurement, fabrication, construction, commissioning and troubleshooting activities.\n\nParticipate in design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP and project risk assessments.\n\nProvide technical leadership and guidance to engineering team members.\n\nWork closely with clients, project teams, suppliers and contractors.\n\nIdentify and manage technical, design and project delivery risks.\n\nSkills & Experience\nMinimum 10 years' technical and practical experience in the design and construction of mineral processing plants.\n\nStrong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering design delivery.\n\nDemonstrated experience independently delivering complex mechanical engineering scopes.\n\nStrong experience in mechanical equipment selection, sizing, specification and technical evaluation.\n\nExperience completing detailed mechanical engineering designs and calculations.\n\nExperience preparing and reviewing mechanical drawings, datasheets, scopes, specifications and tender evaluations.\n\nStrong knowledge of applicable Australian and international engineering standards and codes.\n\nVendor evaluation, procurement and equipment selection experience.\n\nExperience supporting or leading fabrication, construction, commissioning and troubleshooting activities.\n\nStrong technical judgement, analytical and problem-solving capability.\n\nAbility to work independently and take ownership of engineering outcome\n\nAbout Airswift\nAirswift is an international workforce solutions provider within the energy, process and infrastructure industries.
