With over 1,000 employees and 9,000 contractors operating in over 70 countries, our geographical reach and pool of talent available is unmatched in the industry.\nLocation:\nBristol, United Kingdom (initially), then relocating to Baku, Azerbaijan\nStart Date: October 2026\nContract Duration: 12 months (renewable/extendable)\nAbout the Role\nAirswift is currently recruiting for an experienced SPS Project Control Lead to join our client, a leading international Oil & Gas company, supporting the\nThe SPS Project Control Lead will play a key role in supporting the SPS Package Manager in the management, coordination, and control of all project control activities related to the Subsea Production System (SPS) package. This includes contract administration, planning and scheduling, cost control, reporting, documentation management, risk monitoring, manpower planning, and stakeholder coordination across international and multicultural teams.\nThe successful candidate will initially be based in Bristol, UK, before transitioning to Baku, Azerbaijan as project activities progress.\nKey Responsibilities\nProject Controls & Contract Management\nEnsure SPS package contracts (EPFS and Services) are effectively managed and controlled regarding:\nProgress monitoring\n\nEquipment delivery tracking\n\nInvoice processing and payment\n\nCost reporting\n\nEngineering documentation administration\n\nPackage reporting\n\nCommercial and contractual matters\n\nMaintain compliance with contractual terms and conditions and project management instructions.\n\nMonitor package progress using Primavera P6, producing weekly and monthly progress reports.\n\nInterface regularly with contractor planners and project control personnel.\n\nTrack equipment deliveries and coordinate the issuance of interim certificates when contractual conditions are fulfilled.\n\nReview and validate contractor invoices, including:\nProgress payments\n\nMilestone payments\n\nReimbursable costs\n\nVariation Orders (VOs)\n\nMission and travel expenses\n\nPrepare, review, and administer correspondence exchanged with contractors, maintaining an up-to-date correspondence register.\n\nMonitor package expenditures and provide accurate cost reporting to the Project Management Team (PMT).\n\nDevelop and maintain package budget forecasts and payment schedules.\n\nPrepare and monitor package S-Curves, comparing actual versus planned performance.\n\nCoordinate closely with the Project Control Team to ensure reporting accuracy.\n\nDocumentation & Contract Administration\nManage detailed engineering documentation and transmittals between contractors, PMT, and affiliate teams.\n\nTrack and monitor COMPANY responses to ensure compliance with contractual review timelines.\n\nSupport management of package administrative activities.\n\nCoordinate with Contracts & Procurement (C&P) teams regarding variation orders and contract amendments.\n\nChallenge and negotiate contractor variation orders to safeguard COMPANY interests while ensuring fair contractual application.\n\nCoordinate and close actions resulting from COMPANY audits and reviews.\n\nInterface with Project HR regarding package manpower planning and resource requirements.\n\nTeam Coordination & Leadership\nCoordinate all SPS Package Project Control activities and ensure alignment across disciplines.\n\nSupport the SPS Package Manager in the administration and coordination of package personnel.\n\nParticipate in recruitment and onboarding activities when required.\n\nFoster strong working relationships between COMPANY teams and contractor personnel.\n\nPromote a collaborative, multicultural, and high-performance working environment.\n\nReporting Responsibilities\nPrepare and submit regular SPS Package reports to the Project Management Team.\n\nAttend monthly package review meetings and weekly project control meetings.\n\nProvide regular updates and reports to:\nSPS Package Manager\n\nProject Control Manager\n\nOther key project stakeholders\n\nEnsure accurate and timely communication of package performance, risks, costs, and schedule status.\n\nCollaborate closely with COMPANY and contractor teams to ensure alignment and transparency\n\n HSE Responsibilities\n\nThe SPS Project Control Lead shall:\nComply with all requirements of the HSE Management System.\n\nTake reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others.\n\nUnderstand environmental responsibilities within their activities whenever an actual or potential threat exists to personnel, facilities, or the environment and to immediately notify responsible management.\nAccountabilities\nThe SPS Project Control Lead shall:\nAssist the SPS Package Manager in the organization, management, and control of the SPS Package.\n\nDeputize for the SPS Package Manager when required.\n\nCoordinate and supervise all package project control functions, including:\nContracts\n\nPlanning & Scheduling\n\nCost Control\n\nBudget Management\n\nRisk Management\n\nDocumentation Control\n\nHR Coordination\n\nIS/IT Coordination\n\nReporting\n\nEnsure compliance with COMPANY procedures, project guidelines, and industry best practices.\n\nIdentify and communicate any deviations from project commitments or objectives.\n\nDrive continuous improvement and optimization of package project control activities.\n\nQualifications & Experience\nEducation\nBachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.\n\nExperience\n10 to 15 years of overall professional experience in major oil and gas projects.\n\n5 to 10 years of experience in project controls, contracts administration, planning, scheduling, and cost control.\n\nDemonstrated experience working on large-scale EPC/EPCI, subsea, offshore, or energy projects.\n\nExperience working within multicultural and international project environments.\n\nStrong understanding of contract management and commercial administration.\n\nTechnical Skills\nProficiency in Primavera P6.\n\nStrong cost control and forecasting capabilities.\n\nUnderstanding of project reporting, budgeting, and progress measurement systems.\n\nExperience with documentation management systems and project control tools.\n\nLanguages\nFluent located offshore Azerbaijan in the Caspian Sea, approximately 100 km southeast of Baku in water depths of around 500 meters.
