Read ouroperating principles to see it in full.\nHow you'll make impact\nAirwallex is expanding its globally distributed platform, and reliable, secure networking is foundational to keeping our financial solutions available. You'll help build and operate the network infrastructure that supports our engineers, customers, and growth across regions and markets.\nMaintain and expand Airwallex's global cloud network infrastructure into new regions and markets while meeting strict regulatory and compliance requirements.\n\nDesign, implement, and operate highly available, secure production network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, VPN, and cloud environments spanning multiple global data centres and cloud regions.\n\nManage global connectivity over international leased lines and domestic internet connections, and own the configuration and troubleshooting of complex network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and cloud environments.\n\nDrive complex network incidents through to resolution as a first responder and escalation point, producing clear after-action reports.\n\nPartner with InfoSec, DevOps, Database, Corporate IT, Facilities, and other technical and non-technical teams to integrate network solutions and support business initiatives across multiple regions.\n\nImprove operational visibility and reliability by maintaining comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and operational procedures.\n\nEvaluate and recommend networking technologies and solutions, help shape the team's future structure, and mentor junior engineers.\n\nSupport resilient global operations through participation in an on-call rotation and scheduled network upgrades, including flexible scheduling when needed to minimise business disruption.\n\nYou'll work from our Singapore office.\nWhat we're looking for\nEssentials\nCCNA / JNCIA-level experience demonstrating a strong networking foundation.\n\nDemonstrated experience working in a mixed networking-vendor environment, such as Juniper, Palo Alto, Cisco, Aruba, or equivalent, in a global company.\n\nStrong AWS network design and operations experience, with at least three years working with AWS networking in production.\n\nStrong documentation habits and an understanding of change-control processes.\n\nBasic understanding of GCP networking concepts.\n\nUnderstanding of AI-assisted workflows and practical use cases.\n\nSolid understanding of command-line configuration and troubleshooting for networking hardware and vendors, including JunOS, IOS, or equivalent.\n\nStrong understanding of core BGP and route-filtering principles.\n\nAbility to assess the impact of changes and incidents and manage them appropriately.\n\nAn outcome-oriented approach.\n\nCollaborative and supportive work habits.\n\nWillingness to learn new technologies and skills.\n\nPreferred\nExperience working with broader technical teams outside of networking.\n\nAbility to translate network concepts for non-technical stakeholders.\n\nStrong knowledge of Linux distributions.\n\nExperience with scripting languages such as Python or Bash.\n\nEvent-driven automation experience.\n\nComfort with declarative infrastructure tools such as Terraform and Git-based CI/CD pipelines.\n\nA bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, and five or more years of relevant experience in a similar role.\n\nStrong, demonstrated written and verbal English communication skills.\n\nExperience with other cloud infrastructure providers such as Aliyun or Azure.\n\nAbility to move quickly and urgently while making sound decisions and assumptions, sometimes without all the information.\n\nFamiliarity with elastic connectivity providers.\n\nFamiliarity with data-centre providers, access requirements, and conduct requirements.\n\nA builder mindset.\n\nExperience with IPsec VPN setup and troubleshooting.\n\nExperience with fintech, finance, or adjacent high-availability networks.\n\nExperience working within strict compliance restrictions and information-security policies.\n\nYou'll thrive here if\nYou're comfortable owning the roadmap yourself.\n\nYou own the outcome and you don't wait for permission to fix what's broken.\n\nYou're comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and moving quickly anyway.\n\nYou hold yourself to a high standard even when no one is watching.
