Read ouroperating principles to see it in full.\nHow you'll make impact\nYou'll shape the long-term technical vision for Airwallex's identity, authentication, and core account domains. You'll work on highly available, cloud-native systems that secure our platform and support global scale.\nOwn the technical vision and architecture for our Identity and Access Management and account infrastructure domains.\n\nBuild highly available, cloud-native IAM products and account infrastructure using Java or Kotlin.\n\nPartner with Product, Security, Compliance, Legal, and Engineering teams to turn business and regulatory requirements into scalable technical roadmaps.\n\nImprove engineering quality through thoughtful system design, code reviews, automated testing, and best practices for performance, reliability, and security.\n\nYou'll work from our Singapore office five days a week.\nWhat we're looking for\nEssentials\nA bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.\n\n5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a focus on backend development.\n\nStrong proficiency in a modern programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python.\n\nDeep understanding of Identity and Access Management concepts, including authentication, authorization, SSO, and MFA.\n\nExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.\n\nSolid knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, Cassandra, and Redis.\n\nExperience mentoring engineers and helping level up team capabilities.\n\nFamiliarity with application security best practices and secure coding standards, including OWASP.\n\nExperience designing, developing, and maintaining highly available products and scalable infrastructure.\n\nExperience implementing security protocols such as OAuth2, OIDC, or SAML.\n\nExperience working cross-functionally with Product, Security, Compliance, Legal, and Engineering teams.\n\nPreferred\nExperience in the fintech, banking, or payments industry.\n\nExperience with data governance tools or privacy-enhancing technologies.\n\nExperience working in a high-growth startup environment.\n\nYou'll thrive here if\nYou're comfortable owning the roadmap yourself.\n\nYou own the outcome and you don't wait for permission to fix what's broken.\n\nYou're comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and moving quickly anyway.\n\nYou enjoy working closely with people across multiple countries and time zones as part of one connected, global team, including flexing your hours occasionally to make that connection work.\n\nYou've worked in a high-growth or scaling environment and know what it takes to build systems that need to grow with the business.\n\nLearn more about your team\nThe Organization & Identity team is responsible for building and evolving Airwallex's core identity and organization foundations, covering user onboarding, authentication and access control through to organization-structure modeling, account-ownership management, and org-level workflow enablement.
