For this position, we are seeking a talented individual to join AIS as a Senior Software Architect.\nCore Knowledge & Skills: Operates as a multi-domain subject matter expert (e.g., Security, Data) with industry depth, defines enterprise patterns, and guides adoption across solutions.\n\nWork & Complexity: Plans and directs the most complex, cross-functional, mission-critical initiatives, and evaluates industry standards to drive innovation and intellectual property.\n\nQuality & Independence: Acts independently with organization-wide influence, sets visionary bars for quality, reliability, and delivery practices.\n\nTeamwork & Communication: Models company values, mentors across the organization, builds formal networks with decision makers, and serves as an external spokesperson.\n\nConsulting & Engagement: Advises executives on strategy, steers long-range planning and new lines of business, and delivers thought-leading presentations at the highest technical level.\n\nAs your initial project assignment, you will support the unique needs of our client as a Azure Data / Databricks Engineer.\n\nProject Summary\nAIS is seeking an Azure Data / Databricks Engineer to build secure, reliable Azure data pipelines and analytics foundations that modernize legacy Oracle workloads and enable governed reporting and analytics for a federal customer.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign and implement ingestion, transformation, and data-quality pipelines using ADLS Gen2, Azure Databricks, and approved orchestration services.\n\nMigrate and modernize Oracle data workloads while preserving lineage, reconciliation, security, and performance requirements.\n\nDevelop medallion-style data models, notebooks, jobs, monitoring, and operational support practices.\n\nCollaborate with business and BI teams on curated data sets, Power BI integration, and data-consumption standards.\n\nImplement secure identity, network, storage, and access patterns appropriate for Azure Government environments.\n\nDocument pipeline operations, data quality checks, recovery procedures, and support handoff materials.\n\nRequired For This Opportunity\n5+ years in data engineering, ETL/ELT, or analytics-platform delivery.\n\nHands-on experience with Azure Databricks, ADLS Gen2, SQL, Python, and data-pipeline orchestration.\n\nExperience migrating relational or Oracle data workloads to cloud data platforms.\n\nKnowledge of data modeling, data quality, reconciliation, monitoring, and performance optimization.\n\nStrong problem-solving and stakeholder-communication skills.\n\nNice to Have Skills\nAzure Government or regulated data-platform experience.\n\nPower BI, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, or Azure Data Factory experience.\n\nDatabricks or Azure Data Engineer certification.\n\nAt AIS, we are committed to offering competitive and fair compensation that reflects the skills, experience, and contributions of each team member.\n\nThe targeted base salary range for this role is $195,000-$210,000 per year.
