For this position, we are seeking a talented individual to join AIS as a Infrastructure Engineer.\nCore Knowledge & Skills: Manages routing/switching and network security, multi-OS environments, virtualization (e.g., VMware/Hyper-V), core cloud services, and release of IaC via pipelines; automates common admin tasks.\n\nWork & Complexity: Plans and executes upgrades/migrations, configures network devices and services, responds to incidents, monitors performance, and manages resources.\n\nQuality & Independence: Implements proactive monitoring, produces accurate documentation, improves processes, and works independently within project scope.\n\nTeamwork & Communication: Partners with peer teams, shares knowledge, coordinates changes, reports progress, and supports/train users.\n\nConsulting & Engagement: Advises internal teams on solutions and tools, evaluates technologies, recommends optimizations, and coordinates vendor support.\n\nAs your initial project assignment, you will support the unique needs of our client as a Cloud Migration Engineer I.\n\nProject Summary\nThe Cloud Migration Engineer I provides hands-on engineering support for moving applications, servers, and supporting infrastructure from on-premises data centers to Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS) as part of a large-scale enterprise cloud migration program. The role supports technical assessment, target environment preparation, replication, migration execution, validation, cutover, rollback, and stabilization so multiple applications can move safely and consistently. The role is remote.\nKey Responsibilities\nReviews application and infrastructure information to identify migration prerequisites, dependencies, risks, and readiness gaps.\nPrepares Azure and AWS target environments using approved architecture patterns, infrastructure as code, configuration standards, and security guardrails.\nSets up, monitors, and troubleshoots server, virtual machine, application, and data replication using approved migration tools.· Executes documented migration, cutover, rollback, and recovery steps, including application shutdown, synchronization, target startup, and technical handoff activities.\nPerforms and documents pre- and post-migration validation of infrastructure, connectivity, authentication, configuration, application services, and operational readiness.\nTroubleshoots migration issues across Windows and Linux servers, networking, storage, virtualization, identity, and cloud services, engaging shared specialists when needed.\nMaintains migration runbooks, configuration records, source-controlled scripts, status updates, and evidence required for change approval and customer acceptance.\nRequired For This Opportunity\nUS Citizen\nThree to five years of infrastructure engineering, systems administration, cloud engineering, or migration experience· \nHands-on experience with Azure or AWS cloud environments· Experience with Windows and Linux server administration \nWorking knowledge of networking, storage, virtualization, identity and access management, and application dependencies\nExperience following secure and compliant engineering procedures, including applying or validating STIG controls and/or DoD security requirements\nNice to Have Skills\nExperience with Azure Government or AWS GovCloud environments\nAzure or AWS certification\nExperience with cloud migration, replication, discovery, or assessment tools\nScripting or automation experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar languages\nExperience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation\nExperience using GitHub and GitHub Copilot for source control, collaboration, and AI-assisted engineering\nFederal program delivery experience and familiarity with ServiceNow-based change management\n\nAt AIS, we are committed to offering competitive and fair compensation that reflects the skills, experience, and contributions of each team member.\n\nThe targeted base salary range for this role is $90,000-$137,000 per year.
