Lead Frontend Engineer

As a Lead Frontend Engineer, you will serve as the architect and technical leader for the Marketplace Portal frontend ecosystem. You will define frontend architecture, establish engineering standards, and enable teams to build scalable, high-performance, and observable applications.

Responsibilities:

• This role combines hands-on technical depth with cross-team influence, shaping how frontend systems evolve across the marketplace.
• Define and evolve the frontend architecture for the Marketplace Portal, including modular/micro-frontend patterns.
• Design and build scalable, high-performance applications, driving improvements in Core Web Vitals and user experience.
• Establish standards for component design, state management (Zustand), and data fetching (React Query).
• Drive observability and reliability through metrics, logging, and monitoring (OpenTelemetry, Web Vitals).
• Act as a bar-raiser for code quality, testing (unit + Playwright), and maintainability.
• Lead platform modernisation and technology decisions (e. g., Redux Zustand, Saga React Query).
• Partner with Product, Design, and Backend teams to translate business needs into scalable solutions.
• Mentor engineers and influence technical decisions across teams.
• Drive adoption of AI coding companions and AI-powered workflows to improve engineering velocity and quality.

Requirements:

• 9+ years of experience in frontend development, with leadership experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern frontend architecture.
• Deep expertise in state management and data-fetching patterns (Zustand, React Query).
• Strong experience designing large-scale frontend systems and platforms.
• Expertise in performance optimisation (Core Web Vitals, rendering strategies, bundling).
• Strong experience with frontend observability and monitoring.
• Proven ability to lead frontend migrations and modernisation efforts.
• Experience with micro-frontend/microsite architectures.
• Strong experience with testing strategies (unit + Playwright E2E).
• Ability to drive technical strategy and influence multiple teams.
• Proven track record of leveraging and scaling AI tools across teams.
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
