You'll shape how Aiven engineers write, test and ship code, from development environments and internal tooling to CI/CD pipelines. We want a generalist who knows software engineering best practices, is equally comfortable writing a fast, robust shell script and managing cloud infrastructure, and wants to build up a team from day one.\nWhat You'll Do:\nWork with engineering teams to identify and prioritise concrete problems, then fix them.\nOwn and improve our CI/CD pipelines.\nBuild new developer tooling, or pick the best existing tools, and drive their adoption.\nSet sensible defaults for the whole organisation, such as project templates, testing conventions and documentation.\nHelp shape how humans and AI agents develop safely side by side.\nWhat We're Looking For:\nProfessional Experience: Several years in professional software engineering teams, shipping and maintaining software in production.\nOwnership Instinct: You're the person who fixed the flaky build, wrote the onboarding script or cleaned up the pipeline because it was slowing your team down, even when nobody asked.\nInfrastructure: Hands-on experience with Linux, containers and Infrastructure as Code.\nCommunication: Fluency in English, written and verbal.\n Observability (nice-to-have): Experience with observability tooling.\n UX Sensibility (nice-to-have): Familiarity with user experience or product design, or a habit of treating your fellow engineers as users.\n Open-Source Data Technologies (nice-to-have): Familiarity with open source data technologies such as Apache Kafka®, PostgreSQL® or ClickHouse®.\nAmazing!
