You'll test the applications, processes and integrations behind our customer experience, helping us deliver software that works as it should and continues to perform as our products evolve.\nYou'll work across UI, API, back-office workflows, third-party systems and the integrations between them, including end-to-end testing. You'll combine hands-on testing expertise with an automation-first approach, helping development teams identify risks early and deliver resilient, performant solutions.\nYou'll also have an important role within the testing team, coaching and supporting other testers, reviewing their work and helping the Team Lead balance workloads and priorities.\nThis is an opportunity to work on products that will help shape how people invest for their future financial wellbeing. You'll be part of a focused application development team where success is measured not just by the features we deliver, but by the value and quality we create for our customers.\nWhat you'll do\nProtect the quality of the customer experience\nCarry out testing across UI, API, back-office workflow processes, third-party systems and integrations, including end-to-end testing.\nUnderstand and interpret business, functional and technical requirements.\nUnderstand AJ Bell's products and processes, along with relevant Financial Services legislation.\nUse your testing expertise to influence how solutions are developed and delivered, helping teams achieve the best possible outcome for customers.\nExecute test scripts and record results using software testing tools such as JIRA and Xray.\nRaise defects promptly, providing clear and sufficient detail to support investigation and resolution.\nSupport User Acceptance Testing and releases into Production.\nApply an understanding of Agile working practices throughout delivery.\nBuild testing into delivery\nWork alongside Technical Leads and other Testers from project inception to create and implement appropriate test automation approaches.\nBalance automation and manual testing to provide effective coverage and confidence in releases.\nTake an automation-first approach wherever it adds value.\nCarry out exploratory testing within an Agile development environment.\nDevelop test tools and extend test frameworks and test environments.\nSupport new research projects and proof of concepts, helping us explore better ways to build and test our products.\nSupport and develop other testers\nCoach and support testers within the team, sharing knowledge and helping others develop their skills.\nReview testing work through peer reviews and provide constructive feedback.\nDelegate work and set tasks, targets and objectives when required.\nAct as a first point of contact for testers who need technical or testing support.\nWork closely with the Team Lead to balance workflow, priorities and delivery.\nHelp us keep improving\nBring your knowledge and experience to discussions about how we build and test software.\nIdentify opportunities to improve testing approaches, automation, tooling and environments.\nWork collaboratively with developers, Technical Leads and other stakeholders to identify risks and solve problems early.\nContribute to a culture where quality is everyone's responsibility.\nAbout you:\nWe don't expect you to have experience with every technology we use. What's important is that you're an experienced tester with strong technical foundations, a desire to keep learning and the confidence to share your expertise with others.\nExperience\nExperience of working as a Senior Tester and delegating work to other testers within the team and being a first point of contact if they require help or assistance.\nFull understanding of the testing lifecycle & methodologies\nCreate and design automated test scripts using the BDD methodology\nMaintain and enhance the existing automation frameworks\nCarry out exploratory testing within an Agile development environment\nDevelop test tools, and extend test frameworks and test environments\nProven experience testing APIs using integration tools\nTechnical knowledge\nKnowledge of Cypress, Gherkin, Page Object Model, PactumJS and TypeScript.\nStrong understanding of the processes and systems under test, including the ability to test individual components and related processes.\nA good understanding of test automation concepts and their practical application.\nAn automation-first approach to test execution where appropriate.\nExperience with software testing tools such as JIRA and Xray.\nHow you'll work\nMeticulous attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.\nExcellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.\nA collaborative approach and willingness to share knowledge.\nThe confidence to challenge, influence and contribute to technical discussions.\nA proactive approach to identifying risks and finding practical solutions.\nA genuine desire to learn, adapt and improve how we test and deliver software.\nAbout AJ Bell\nAt AJ Bell, we believe investing should feel good.
