We are looking for a talented Sr. Platform Engineer who shares our passion for building software solutions and the next technologies across the continent.\nReporting to the Head of Engineering, the Senior Platform Engineer is responsible for building outstanding software solutions to support our real time data platform.\nThe candidate should demonstrate the following skills : \n\nMaintain Ajua’s platform uptime, performance, stability and scalability\n\nDesign, guide, mentor and challenge system architecture and design with others\n\nDevelop, maintain, and scale a world class public API\n\nDevelop best possible, most robust, and extensible solutions from feature requests\n\nExperience working with data processing technology (Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, etc)\n\nExperience working with Data Scientists to develop rich value added features\n\nExperience working with DBA to create ETL and Data Warehouse system\n\nExperience working with Operations to automate solutions and increase service reliability\n\nExperience working with Machine Learning and using large-scale data repository for business intelligence; App development a plus.\n\nClosely monitor all platform related production systems\n\nPeriodically perform On-Call duty\n\nAnalyze requirements thoroughly; Advise and develop solutions that solves the true customers' pain\n\nPerform testing and unit testing for delivering quality work\n\nAcquire technical skills and knowledge continuously and aggressively, and help team to develop the same\n\nProperly document development work completed\n\nProviding strategic guidance and advice in a true partnership with executive leadership\n\nBasic Requirements\nBachelors of Science in Computer Science or related engineering discipline\n\n8+ years of relevant, broad engineering experience\n\nSolid data structures and algorithms foundation\n\nExpert-level understanding of at least one JVM language preferably Java \n\nAdvanced understanding of the JVM internals, JVM Runtime, JVM GC, and JVM performance tuning\n\nAdvanced understanding of Spring Framework, Spring Boot and Spring Cloud\n\nDeep understanding of applicable unit and integration testing, and testing frameworks\n\nDeep understanding of Relational and Non-relational databases\n\nStrong understanding of big data stack, e.g. Hadoop, Kafka, Spark, etc\n\nExperience architecting, developing and deploying distributed systems\n\nExcellent knowledge of Linux and networking\n\nWorking knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies preferably Docker and Kubernetes\n\nStrong working knowledge of AWS Cloud computing platform\n\nOpen Source project contributions are a plus\n\nWorking Conditions:\nPotential travel between East \n\nGrowth stage startup grind!
