The role combines hands-on AI/ML engineering with close collaboration across the AI Innovation team to bring new AI capability into reliable, production use.\nWhat you’ll be doing:\nWriting, testing and deploying AI/ML code (Python) integrated with existing systems.\n\nDesigning and refining agent behaviours, prompts and retrieval approaches.\n\nReviewing AI feature performance and monitoring data, adjusting as needed.\n\nCollaborating with the Data Engineer, Business Analyst and Team Lead on priorities and technical approach.\n\nSupporting AI Champions and other colleagues using self-service AI tools.\n\nContributing to documentation supporting responsible AI and governance practices.\n\nRequirements\nAbout you\nProven experience building and deploying production-grade AI and LLM-powered applications, ideally using Python.\n\nHands-on experience with leading LLM platforms such as AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar technologies.\n\nStrong understanding of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI agent design, and modern generative AI architectures.\n\nExperience working with cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and CI/CD practices to deliver scalable AI solutions.\n\nAbility to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment with minimal supervision.\n\nExcellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.\n\nPragmatic and delivery-focused mindset, balancing innovation with the need to ship impactful, working solutions.\n\nNice to Have\nPrevious experience in a small, cross-functional product or engineering team.\n\nExperience working within a fast-growing AI, innovation, or emerging technology function.\n\nKnowledge of knowledge graphs, graph databases, or graph-based memory systems.\n\nFamiliarity with workflow automation, orchestration platforms, and AI tooling ecosystems.\n\nUnderstanding of AI governance, risk management, and responsible AI frameworks.\n\nNaturally curious about emerging AI technologies and industry developments.\n\nPassion for mentoring, coaching, or supporting colleagues in developing their AI skills and adoption capabilities.\n\nExperience working with AWS and Terraform\n\nWhy join us?\nWe are AJW.
