The Solution Center offers IT support to Akamai's internal teams globally. This role involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues through chat, phone, and ticketing systems. With effective problem-solving and empathetic communication, collaboration with global colleagues ensures Akamai achieves its mission of powering and protecting life online.
Partner with the best
As an IT Support Specialist you will be responsible for delivering new IT services to the Akamai community. This is through process, procedure, documentation, and service delivery planning. Every project starts somewhere, and you'll be right on the front lines of emerging IT strategy. You will be responsible for executing essential IT planning, documentation, training, and overall service strategy.
As an IT Support Specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Delivering omnichannel support: Provide high-skill, high-touch customer service across in-person, chat, ticket, and phone channels, serving as a key escalation point.
- Presenting comprehensive solutions: Partner with Senior Specialists and Analysts to design and deliver complete answers to customers' technical and functional needs
- Elevating team performance: Support peers and provide real-time, actionable feedback to continuously improve overall service quality.
- Demonstrating resourcefulness by efficiently locating accurate information, serving as a capable problem-solver without requiring complete upfront knowledge.
- Managing inventory: Execute accurate and secure inventory management practices

To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a High school / Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, another related field or its equivalent
- Deliver exceptional service: Champion customer success with a genuine passion for providing outstanding, customer-focused experiences.
- Troubleshoot under pressure: Maintain composure and unwavering focus while resolving difficult and stressful technical challenges
- Navigate complex challenges: Utilize resourcefulness, adaptability, sound judgment, and effective negotiation abilities to address and resolve obstacles encountered daily.
- Communicate effectively: Engage with diverse customers and skillfully handle various situations using exceptional interpersonal expertise.
- Manage time efficiently: Exercise excellent time management to maximize productivity and ensure prompt service
- Maintain the workspace: Ensure a clean, safe, and highly efficient environment across both front and back-of-house areas.
