Partner with the best
As a Network Account Manager, you'll work with a team of global Account Managers to provide best possible outcomes with Internet Service Providers and Fiber Providers. You will define strategy and cost savings to improve performance while ensuring Akamai meets its targets for growth and environmental sustainability.
As a Network Account Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Developing relationships with National and International Carriers and Service Providers to meet needs for deploying connectivity to and between Data Centers
- Partnering alongside internal infrastructure groups to establish optimal technical, commercial, and contractual conditions for network expansions
- Collaborating with the Akamai Data Center team to assist in identifying the right technical and commercial terms for fiber builds
- Working closely with existing and new Partners and Vendors to identify cost-effective effective business relationships and then executing those agreements
- Managing contract negotiations to ensure Akamai's platforms can scale efficiently and support our customers increasing demands
- Ensuring capacity is upgraded in a timely/effective manner by working closely with internal and external provisioning teams
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Center Management or related field or its equivalent
- Have excellent commercial and contractual negotiation skills, the ability to identify creative ideas for complex negotiation situations
- Have a practical understanding of technologies and services such as IP Transit, Waves/DWDM, PNI, fiber connectivity, colocation and cross-connects.
- Possess solid data analysis and financial skills, with the ability to evaluate pricing, total cost, savings opportunities and business cases
- Demonstrate excellent organization and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities across vendors, projects and internal teams
- Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across functions and geographies

Compensation
Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $88,900 - $160,100/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
