You'll work across cloud services, infrastructure, and data systems to help scale our services, pipelines, and databases.\nIn this role you will be:\nDesigning, building, and operating scalable backend services and the infrastructure that supports them.\nOwning production systems end to end, with a focus on availability, performance, observability, and operational readiness.\nBuilding and maintaining reliable ETL and data-processing pipelines for production workloads.\nWorking with PostgreSQL and ClickHouse to support data-intensive systems, including schema design, query performance, and data lifecycle needs.\nDeveloping and operating event-driven processing with Kafka and integrating it with backend services.\nBuilding and improving cloud infrastructure across AWS and GCP using Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code.\nImproving deployment and operations through CI/CD, monitoring, automation, and close collaboration with partner teams.\nDo what you love\nTo be successful in this role you will:\nHave at least 4 years of experience in backend or infrastructure engineering in production environments.\nDemonstrate backend engineering skills in one or more general-purpose languages, with experience building and operating production services.\nHave experience designing distributed systems and debugging complex performance and reliability issues.\nHave hands-on PostgreSQL experience, including data modeling, schema design, query performance, migrations, and troubleshooting.\nHave experience with ClickHouse and Kafka, or similar analytical database and event-streaming technologies.\nHave experience building ETL or data-processing pipelines; experience supporting analytics or Data Science workflows.\nHave hands-on experience with AWS or GCP, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code.\nBuild your career at Akamai\nOur ability to shape digital life today relies on developing exceptional people like you.
