We encourage and reward curiosity, ingenuity, and technical excellence.\nPartner with the best\nAs a Senior II Software Development in Test, you will automate the SDLC pipeline from testing through deployment and validation.\nAs a Senior II Software Development Engineer in Test, you will be responsible for:\nInvestigating and troubleshooting any deployment-related issues, identifying root causes and providing recommendations for solutions in various environments.\nDeveloping and maintaining automated test frameworks for code changes, including unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests.\nCreating and maintaining test plans and test cases for microservices, ensuring they cover relevant scenarios and edge cases.\nCollaborating in integration testing with other engineering groups and suggesting improvements to various testing environments.\nInvestigating requirements for safe deployment and rollback strategies, and verifying all requirements during the deployment process.\nWriting and maintaining scripts to automate platform service deployments.\nDo what you love\nTo be successful in this role you will:\nHave 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.\nHave Python and Pytest knowledge along with good understanding of modern testing methodologies along with working knowledge of Perl and golang.\nHave experience debugging across environments reproducing a failing test locally on x86 vs. ARM (native or emulated), isolating whether a failure is arch-specific.\nPossess knowledge of Debian packaging and QEMU's TCG vs KVM acceleration.\nHave good Linux fundamentals, especially around performance tuning along with experience in Bash and scripting fundamentals.\nPossess experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Jenkins, Github Actions, SaltStack.\nHave good Linux fundamentals, especially around performance tuning along with experience in Bash and scripting fundamentals.\nHave an understanding of modern software development life cycle processes and service level objective monitoring and alerting.\nAbout us\nAt Akamai, we make life better for billions of people, trillions of times a day.\nWhether you're streaming live events, scrolling social media, watching your favorite series, or managing your savings, we're the engine behind the scenes. Compensation\nAkamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from 120,400 - 216,600 CAD/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications.
