Our Server Tech Services team works on hardware and network issues on Akamai's infrastructure.\nPartner with the best\nAs a Senior Server Tech Services Engineer, you will be responsible for resolving high-severity hardware and network issues across Akamai's infrastructure. You will lead complex technical escalations, mentor junior engineers, and drive operational excellence.\nAs a Senior Server Tech Services Engineer, you will be responsible for:\nReporting and working closely with the cSTS team lead during critical maintenance projects\nCollaborating with Network Infrastructure and Site Reliability Engineering teams to assess issues and initiate swift workflows\nDiagnosing high-level hardware and network issues across the global infrastructure\nFacilitating server repairs by working with ISP and Field Engineers\nCoordinating the return of Akamai equipment back to the warehouse or vendors\nMonitoring hardware failure patterns and proactively reporting trends to Hardware Engineering and vendors\nDo what you love\nTo be successful in this role you will:\nHave 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in technology, a related field, or equivalent professional experience\nHave experience with fault diagnosis in network and server hardware technologies like drives, RAM, motherboards, and RAID\nPossess expert knowledge of Layer 1 and Layer 2 troubleshooting, OSI Model, and Unix/Linux CLI\nHave experience with data center technologies and infrastructure environment management\nDemonstrate solid analytical skills to systematically gather information and resolve complex technical issues\nBe knowledgeable in maintaining solid working relationships with internal teams, third-party service providers, and external vendors\nAbout us\nAt Akamai, we make life better for billions of people, trillions of times a day.\nWhether you're streaming live events, scrolling social media, watching your favorite series, or managing your savings, we're the engine behind the scenes.
