If you enjoy working on projects that have a big impact, you'll enjoy working at Akamai!\nAs a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:\nWorking on the virtualization stack (QEMU, QAPI, QMP) and VM optimization\nLeveraging Linux kernel features to enhance hypervisor performance and stack functionality.\nResearching, proposing, and integrating relevant open-source projects based on product objectives\nProviding technical expertise and leadership for your team.\nDeveloping and engineering the software running on the hosts in our data centers\nWorking with a team & helping through hiring, training, coaching and mentoring.\nDo what you love\nTo be successful in this role you will:\nHave at-least 5 years of relevant experience in optimized software running on large distributed production environments & a Bachelors degree (CS)\nHave experience developing software on the Linux kernel. QEMU, Scheduling, Live migrations, memory organization, API, & debugging is advantageous.\nBe proficient in writing organized, efficient, and well-documented Python code; knowledge of Go or Perl is advantageous.\nHave experience developing systems software on Linux, with a good understanding of Linux internals, processes and threads, cgroups, and resource management.\nHave knowledge of NUMA architecture, CPU topology, memory locality, and scheduling.\nHave experience designing abstract software architectures from ideas through implementation and creatively apply domain experience to solve technical challenges\nAbout us\nAt Akamai, we make life better for billions of people, trillions of times a day.\nWhether you're streaming live events, scrolling social media, watching your favorite series, or managing your savings, we're the engine behind the scenes.
