Akamai Cloud Data services (DS) group owns and operates the Big Data lake systems that collect, process and aggregate Akamai network metrics for the purposes of analytics, reporting and visualization. DS systems currently receive over 30PB/day of data and process over 5 trillion records per day. DS Devops group provisions, deploys and monitors Kubernetes clusters to host Akamai data warehouse.

As a DS DevOps software engineer, responsibilities include creating services to accelerate, secure, and automate DS Software Development Life Cycle processes. Tasks involve working with cloud environments, integrating open-source solutions, and Akamai-developed systems. Engagement spans cloud provisioning, network connectivity, Kubernetes deployment, performance, availability, and security. This role offers exposure to innovative technologies, global collaboration, and shaping company-wide processes and solutions.
As a DevOps, you will be responsible for:
- Provisioning Cloud resources using Terraform/OpenTofu and implementing secure Kubernetes services.
- Deploying, monitoring, and logging Kubernetes workloads using GitOps tools such as ArgoCD, Jenkins, Grafana, Prometheus
- Planning and building highly available services and disaster recovery architecture frameworks
- Cooperating with engineering support to troubleshoot complex problems across different specializations
- Working through all software release stages in both development and production environments

- Have to be proficient in Kubernetes, Linux and Jenkins with coding experience in Python.
- Have to show experience designing and implementing large scale continuous delivery solutions
- Have to be experienced with AI tools/AI agents and demonstrate cost effective use of it
- Have to understand networking, security, performance for high scale applications.
- Have to be a self-motivated professional capable of working with minimal supervision.
- Have to possess detailed problem solving skills and experience in a global company.
