They combine human insight, systems thinking and craft to create intuitive, elegant experiences that feel seamless at every touchpoint.\nAs a Senior User Experience Designer, you will play a critical role in shaping end-to-end digital experiences , from early concept through to delivery. You will define the structure, logic and flow behind products and platforms, ensuring they are simple, coherent and meaningful for users.\nWorking within an embedded client team, you will help design experiences that support global platforms and product storytelling, balancing user needs, business goals and technical constraints with precision and care.\nThis role is with AKQA, embedded within a client team, and requires onsite collaboration in the client studio three days per week.\nThis is a 6-9 month fixed-term contract, offered on a hybrid basis.\nROLE REQUIREMENTS\nLead the design of intuitive, scalable user experiences across web and digital platforms\nTranslate complex requirements into clear user journeys, flows, information architecture and interaction models\nDefine and evolve experience frameworks and systems that work consistently across multiple touchpoints\nApply user-centred design principles, grounding decisions in research, insight and data\nPlan and conduct user research and usability testing, synthesising findings into actionable design improvements\nCollaborate closely with designers, writers, technologists and product teams to bring ideas to life\nPrototype and iterate quickly, refining solutions through testing and feedback\nPresent work with clarity and confidence, articulating the rationale behind decisions\nContribute to the overall experience vision, ensuring alignment across wider workstreams\nQUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS\nSignificant experience in user experience design, ideally within an agency or product environment\nA portfolio demonstrating thoughtful, well-crafted UX across complex digital products or platforms\nStrong understanding of user-centred design, service design and interaction design principles\nExperience designing end-to-end journeys, from concept through to delivery\nAbility to simplify complex systems into clear, elegant solutions\nProficiency in modern UX and prototyping tools (e.g. Figma and related platforms)\nExperience working within multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments\nStrong communication skills, with the ability to influence both peers and senior stakeholders\nA systems thinker, able to see both the detail and the bigger picture\nDeeply curious about human behaviour and driven to create meaningful experiences\nCalm, focused and highly organised, even in complex environments\nStrong sense of ownership and accountability for the quality of the work\nCollaborative and open, with a desire to elevate both the work and the team\nRelentless attention to detail and a drive to refine and improve\nWe believe great work happens when we're together, fostering creativity, collaboration, and connection.
