Today, Akuna is proud to operate from additional offices in Sydney, Shanghai, London and Singapore.\nWhat you’ll do as an Engineering Manager - Full-Stack Web at Akuna: \nWe’re seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead a team of Web developers responsible for the firm’s core trading interface used by options market makers. The applications that you and your team build will aid traders and quant researchers in understanding market conditions, assessing risk and managing automated components in our system. Performance is key and we are always looking for more efficient and innovative ways to view the markets. This high-impact role combines technical leadership, stakeholder collaboration, and product ownership to drive the evolution of a mission-critical trading application. In this role, you will: \nLead and mentor a team of Web developers supporting Akuna's suite of web apps\nCollaborate with traders and stakeholders to define project priorities and roadmap \nGuide architecture, UI/UX design, and development best practices (TypeScript/React, Python) \nEnsure code quality, scalability, and operational excellence \nTranslate complex trading requirements into actionable development plans \nQualities that make great candidates: \nBS/MS/Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics, or related field\n3+ years of professional web development experience \nStrong understanding of software and user interface design principles \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills \nBackground in finance or trading systems (options experience preferred) \nExperience working in or with high-performance or real-time systems \nPrior team leadership or mentoring experience is preferred\nOrganized, proactive, and comfortable balancing technical depth with product direction\nThe ability to react quickly and accurately to rapidly changing market conditions, including the ability to quickly and accurately respond and/or solve math and coding problems are essential functions of the role\nIn addition to technical skillsets, Akuna values the unique perspectives people can bring to the table to collaboratively solve complex problems and drive Akuna forward. Exact compensation offered may vary based on many factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and skill set. This role is also eligible for a discretionary performance bonus as part of the total compensation package and includes a comprehensive benefits package that may encompass employer-paid medical, dental, vision, retirement contributions, paid time off, and other benefits.
