The team works on Apache Iceberg and adjacent OSS integrations including Flink compatibility Trino and Hive4 support custom metastore client implementation and cross-project compatibility testing.\nTasksSupport Apache Flink and Iceberg v3 specification work compatibility improvements authentication gap fixes and community-approved feature implementation;\nAdd support for Trino and Hive4 in a custom IMetastoreClient implementation for BigLake;\nImplement compatibility test cases for Apache Iceberg across languages and projects;\nWork with private repository code that is being prepared for open sourcing;\nContribute to technical design implementation testing and review activities across the OSS support scope;\nCollaborate with engineering stakeholders and align implementation details with community consensus\nRequirementsCommercial Java engineering experience for data-intensive systems;\nExperience with Java data processing frameworks such as Flink Spark Kafka or Beam;\nUnderstanding of data lake or lakehouse architecture;\nHands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform services such as BigLake KMS or GCS ecosystem;\nPractical Python experience for tooling tests or integration work;\nAbility to work with compatibility testing cross-system integrations and open-source-oriented implementation workflows;\nTechnical leadership experience for Lead-level candidates;\nUpper-Intermediate English level and clear communication with distributed engineering teams.\nNice to Have:\nApache Iceberg experience;\nOSS community contribution experience;\nCross-system integration experience.\nBenefitsWorking Conditions:\nOverlap: by 10AM PST.
