All rights reserved.\n\nJob Purpose\n\nDesign, configure, test, and continuously improve enterprise process intelligence solutions and business process monitoring capabilities using Celonis EMS and related enterprise technologies.\n\nSupport business transformation initiatives through IT changes, Agile DevOps delivery, and process optimization activities in line with global Information Technology (IT), enterprise architecture, and security standards to enable operational excellence, process transparency, and measurable business value.\n\nThe role contributes to data-driven decision making by translating business process requirements into scalable process mining solutions, dashboards, analytics, and actionable insights across global business functions.\n\nThe Technical Engineer in IT Operations is responsible for translating business process requirements into detailed functional designs, Celonis stories, KPIs, dashboards, and EMS configurations in accordance with enterprise architecture and security standards. Working within projects, operational changes, and Agile DevOps teams, the Functional Engineer coordinates the preparation, review, execution, and testing of process mining solutions while ensuring high-quality delivery and stakeholder alignment throughout the implementation lifecycle. \n\nThe Technical Engineer actively collaborates with business process owners, implementation partners, and external consultants during the execution of enhancements and deployments. The role contributes to incident resolution, root cause analysis, process optimization initiatives, and continuous improvement activities to strengthen operational performance and process transparency.\n\nThe Functional Engineer in Application Delivery is responsible for leading enterprise-wide process intelligence initiatives and defining scalable process mining solutions across business domains. The role drives strategic transformation programs, establishes governance standards, mentors team members, and partners with Architects and senior stakeholders to design advanced analytics, AI-enabled process intelligence capabilities, and sustainable optimization roadmaps. \n\nThe Functional Engineer oversees large-scale implementations and complex operational changes together with strategic partners and cross-functional teams. The role ensures quality execution, monitors delivery progress, governs testing and deployment activities, and leads continuous improvement, incident management, and process mining best practice adoption across the organization.\n\nWe are seeking an experienced Functional Engineer with a strong background in process mining and a proven track record in designing & implementing impactful process mining use cases. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in using Celonis to analyse, optimize, and transform key business operations, particularly within finance and supply chain functions.\n\nYou will leverage Celonis Process Intelligence capabilities, AI-driven insights, and Agentic Automation features to drive digital transformation initiatives by identifying operational inefficiencies, opportunities for potential savings, and developing advanced Celonis applications, dashboards, and intelligent workflows that enhance performance and achieve business objectives.\n\nThe role will also contribute to the adoption of AI-powered process optimization, predictive analytics, intelligent recommendations, and autonomous action orchestration across enterprise processes\n\nKey Activities\n\nStory specification\n\nTranslate business process requirements into clear and detailed Celonis solution designs. Own and develop high-quality stories and configuration specifications for Engineers, Developers, and implementation partners to translate into dashboards, process models, integrations, analytics, and EMS configurations including implementation proposals and deployment planning.\n\nDevelopment & delivery\n\nGuide, coordinate, and oversee the preparation, implementation, and deployment of process intelligence solutions and related configurations. Ensure that all internal and external partners follow established standards including process documentation, governance controls, testing procedures, naming conventions, and architectural principles. Review, approve, and control the implementation of new enhancements, dashboards, KPIs, analytics models, and process mining capabilities across enterprise solutions.\n\nThis results in sustainable, scalable, and business-aligned solutions delivered in close collaboration with stakeholders, business process owners, and external service providers. Solutions are developed according to enterprise architecture and security standards, while changes are properly prepared, documented, validated, and implemented to deliver operational insights and measurable business outcomes.\n\nTesting\n\nOwn and coordinate testing activities for Celonis stories, dashboards, process models, and integrations. Develop and maintain test scenarios, review test outcomes, support user acceptance testing, coordinate business sign-off, and contribute to release planning and test management activities to ensure reliable and high-quality deployments.\n\nIncident management\n\nPerform functional and technical analysis of incidents, data quality issues, and process intelligence disruptions based on business impact and severity. Conduct root cause analysis, document findings, coordinate corrective actions, and oversee deployment of fixes to ensure timely and effective issue resolution and stable operational performance.\n\nProcess management and improvement \n\nMonitor and analyze the performance, adoption, and security of Celonis solutions and related enterprise applications against agreed service and business KPIs. Actively contribute to process optimization initiatives through dashboard development, operational insight visualization, automation, and advanced analytics. Maintain visibility of technical debt and collaborate closely with Domain Architects and delivery teams to continuously improve process intelligence capabilities, DevOps practices, and platform stability.\n\nProject support\n\nSupport project and program managers by taking ownership of process intelligence deliverables including requirements gathering, configurations, dashboards, analytics, testing, and deployment coordination. Define, plan, manage, and execute assigned activities in alignment with IT delivery leads and business stakeholders to ensure efficient realization of project objectives and transformation outcomes.\n\nExperience\n\n4–7 years of relevant experience leading process intelligence initiatives and cross-functional optimization activities\n\nRelevant Bachelor or Master degree Knowledge extends across complete process intelligence domains and related enterprise processes.\n\nParticipates in complex transformation initiatives up to €500K and coordinates, reviews, and approves operational and technical solution changes.\n\nActs as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders by identifying optimization opportunities and translating them into process mining and analytics solutions.\n\nCommunicates technical concepts and process insights effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\nDemonstrates strong understanding of Agile and DevOps delivery methodologies.\n\nLeads complex analytical assessments across multiple domains, identifies optimization opportunities, and evaluates implementation effort and business value realization.\n\nInitiates and implements process intelligence standards, governance procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives across functions.\n\nWorks with a high degree of autonomy, coordinates activities of others, and leads discussions with vendors, consultants, and delivery teams.\n\nTranslates requirements into scalable process intelligence and optimization opportunities across related systems and functions.\n\nAt AkzoNobel we are highly committed to ensuring an inclusive and respectful workplace where all employees can be their best self.
