This individual will be expected to lead the administration, configuration, monitoring, and ongoing optimization of core network systems and platforms, as well as apply best practices in security management. The role combines technical operational management of critical Cisco platforms with broad information security responsibilities across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments\nResponsibilities:\nThe Engineer's primary job responsibilities include:\nAdminister, monitor, and optimize Cisco portfolio infrastructure, including firewalls, identity, and network analytics platforms.\nExecute routine software/firmware upgrades, patching, and configuration updates on network and security appliances.\nEnsure effective network segmentation and secure access by configuring and enforcing network access controls.\nManage and maintain secure remote access solutions for users and devices.\nDeploy, configure, and tune next-generation network perimeter and detection tools to ensure consistent policy enforcement.\nOversee application delivery and web application security solutions, assisting with WAF configuration and incident response.\nMonitor network telemetry and activity for anomalous behavior or security events.\nRespond to and investigate network, security, or operational incidents in both on-premises and cloud environments.\nSupport DDoS and threat protection systems, maintaining readiness and reporting suspicious activity.\nCollaborate with infrastructure and app teams to design and implement secure, compliant architectures across cloud and datacenter.\nParticipate in vulnerability management processes, remediating identified exposures across managed platforms.\nContribute to security operations, including event and log analysis, and improving detection capabilities.\nDevelop and maintain infrastructure documentation, runbooks, and operational standards.\nEnable automation for repeatable network and security processes using scripting and modern tools.\nProvide technical guidance and mentoring to junior staff on security best practices and platform operations.\nOther duties as assigned\nREQUIREMENTS\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.\nMinimum 7 years of experience with enterprise networking and security, with significant hands-on Cisco platform management.\nStrong understanding of network firewalls, perimeter defense, and intrusion detection/prevention.\nDirect experience configuring and troubleshooting network access control systems and policies.\nFamiliarity with cloud platform security fundamentals (AWS, Azure, or GCP) in hybrid enterprise environments.\nPractical knowledge of software, firmware, and patch management for large-scale infrastructure.\nProficiency in troubleshooting layer 2/3 networking, VPNs, and secure remote access solutions.\nExperience with application delivery controllers and web application security.\nAbility to analyze network/endpoint telemetry and investigate security events or performance issues.\nDemonstrated skills using scripting or automation to streamline network/security management.\nHands-on experience supporting vulnerability management and compliance requirements.\nHigh attention to detail, documentation, and change management practices.\nExcellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.\nWillingness to stay current on evolving security threats and industry best practices.\nRelevant certifications (e.g., CCNP Security, CISSP, cloud security, or equivalent) are strongly preferred\nPlease note that sponsorship of new applicants for employment authorization, or any other immigration-related support, is not available for this position at this time.\nWHY WORK FOR ALARM.COM?\nCollaborate with outstanding people: We hire only the best.
