This role is responsible for end-to-end system-level validation of camera-related products, including video doorbells, battery-powered doorbells, indoor cameras, outdoor security cameras, and battery-powered outdoor cameras, from early-stage NPI through mass production. The ideal candidate bridges the gap between engineering and design quality, ensuring that products meet video image quality, audio performance, functional, reliability, and system-level requirements before reaching mass production.\nDuties to be Performed\nSystem Validation Engineering\nServe as the technical subject matter expert for system-level validation across mainly camera product lines, including video doorbells, battery-powered doorbells, indoor cameras, outdoor security cameras, and battery-powered outdoor cameras.\nPartner with Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical Engineering (EE), Optics, Acoustic, RF, and Product Management (PM) teams during early development to define validation strategies and test coverage with particular emphasis on video image quality and audio performance validation.\nDevelop and maintain system validation plans, test specifications, acceptance criteria, and validation reports for EVT, DVT, and PVT milestones, including dedicated video and audio quality benchmarks and pass/fail criteria.\nLead and execute environmental and mechanical reliability validation from sample run to pilot run stages, including second source reliability evaluation and qualification.\nEvaluate and approve engineering changes affecting system-level performance and reliability, including changes that may impact camera image quality, video streaming, microphone sensitivity, and speaker output. .\nDrive component and system qualification activities including functional testing, environmental testing, video image quality validation (e.g., resolution, low-light performance, WDR, color accuracy, latency), audio performance validation (e.g., microphone sensitivity, SNR, echo cancellation, speaker frequency response), and wireless connectivity testing.\nMaintain standardized test documentation, issue tracking processes, and validation records across all managed product lines.\nProduct Test Engineering\nSupport the design, development, and deployment of automated production test programs for wireless functionality including WiFi, BT/BLE, LoRa, cellular, image quality screening, and audio/video performance verification.\nSupport On-going Reliability Test (ORT) on the implementation of automated video quality test routines covering resolution, frame rate, exposure, white balance, and streaming stability, as well as automated audio test routines covering frequency response, SNR, THD, and two-way talk performance.\nAssist manufacturing team to optimize manufacturing test station's reliability using statistical quality metrics such as CpK, GR&R, and yield rate to improve first-pass yields.\nCollaborate with R&D and manufacturing teams to refine test stations, enhance program efficiency, and resolve production bottlenecks.\nSupport manufacturing team on Shop Floor Control System (SFCS) implementation to ensure production traceability and real-time quality monitoring.\nProvide input to product development team on product test design, production line planning, and the transition of projects to mass production.\nDesign Quality & Failure Analysis\nWork with Manufacturing Quality Engineer (MQE) on manufacturing Failure Analysis (FA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Corrective & Preventive Actions (CAPA) to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and reduce quality risks, including video and audio related defects such as image artifacts, noise, distortion, and audio dropouts.\nEstablish and maintain standardized design quality issue management processes to improve issue tracking efficiency and reduce cross-functional meeting overhead.\nMonitor product design quality issues, track issue improvement, and drive continuous design quality improvement initiatives.\nManage testing lab quality system requirements and accreditation activities (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 17025).\nStakeholder Communication\nServe as the technical point of contact for internal stakeholders, discussing test plans, specifications, validation results, and technical issues.\nSupport technology transfer activities, including synchronizing local or overseas engineers on validation procedures and standardized test processes.\nQualifications for the Position\nBachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.\nMinimum 10 years of experience in system validation, design reliability testing, product function test engineering, and/or design quality assurance in security cameras, consumer electronics and/or networking/IoT products.\nHands-on experience with video image quality testing and validation, including resolution, low-light performance, WDR, color accuracy, latency, and video streaming stability for security camera products.\nHands-on experience with audio performance testing and validation, including microphone sensitivity, SNR, echo cancellation, two-way talk, and speaker frequency response.\nHands-on experience with environmental and mechanical reliability testing (thermal cycling, vibration, drop, IP rating, etc.) relevant to outdoor and battery-powered camera products.\nExperience with wireless technology testing including WiFi, BT/BLE, Cellular, LoRa, and Ethernet/PoE.\nProficiency in scripting or programming for test automation, including Python, C/C++, or Linux Shell scripting.\nFamiliarity with NPI processes and transitioning products from development through mass production.\nExperience with statistical quality tools such as CpK, GR&R, and yield loss analysis.\nExperience with MES/SFCS systems for production traceability.\nKnowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and/or ISO 17025 lab accreditation requirements.\nStrong
