We move fast, think big, and deliver results together.\nAlation is seeking a motivated and driven International Accounting Manager to join our Corporate Accounting team, based out of our Chennai, India office. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this role is a critical member of our global finance organization, owning the accounting and compliance functions for Alation's international subsidiaries across EMEA, APAC, and LATAM. As Alation continues to scale, this individual will play a key role in ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance across our global footprint.\nThis is a highly collaborative, cross-functional role that requires flexibility and availability to engage with global stakeholders across multiple time zones, including overlap with US business hours.\nWhat you'll be doing:\nOwn the end-to-end accounting operations for all non-US subsidiaries, including EMEA, APAC, and LATAM entities, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and applicable local standards.\n\nManage statutory compliance and local filing requirements across all international jurisdictions, partnering with local advisors and external auditors as needed.\n\nLead the month-end and quarter-end close processes for international entities, including intercompany transactions, eliminations, and reconciliations.\n\nPartner with the Corporate Accounting team in the US to support consolidated financial reporting and ensure alignment across the global close process.\n\nServe as the primary point of contact for international audit activities, coordinating documentation, responses, and deliverables across all jurisdictions.\n\nLead, mentor, and develop two Senior Accountants, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth.\n\nIdentify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency, scalability, and controls across the international accounting function.\n\nSupport transfer pricing documentation and intercompany agreements in collaboration with legal and tax teams.\n\nAssist with technical accounting research and memos as they relate to international operations.\n\nYou should have:\n7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant exposure to international and multi-entity accounting.\n\nCPA, CA, or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred.\n\nStrong working knowledge of US GAAP and experience with local statutory reporting requirements across multiple international jurisdictions.\n\nExperience working within a private SaaS or technology company is a plus.\n\nHands-on experience with ERP systems; NetSuite experience strongly preferred.\n\nA self-starter mindset with a strong sense of ownership, someone who takes initiative, drives work forward independently, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.\n\nProven ability to manage and develop a team, with a track record of building high-performing accounting functions.\n\nFlexibility and willingness to work across global time zones, including availability during US business hours as needed to support cross-functional collaboration.\n\nStrong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across geographies and time zones.\n\nHigh attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and process excellence.\n\nNice to have: NetSuite design and development experience\n\nHow You Succeed:\nRaise the Bar:Deliver work with exceptional rigor, continuously elevate standards, and hold the team to a high level of quality and accuracy.\n\nMove with Urgency:Act decisively, prioritize effectively, and drive the close process and compliance deliverables forward without losing momentum.\n\nWin Through Results:Focus relentlessly on measurable outcomes; accurate financials, on-time filings, and a well-controlled international accounting function.\n\nBuild Exceptional Teams:Strengthen cross-functional collaboration across geographies and foster shared accountability within your team of Senior Accountants.\n\nAct Like an Owner:Take responsibility for the health of the international accounting function, solve problems proactively, and think long term about scalability and process excellence.\n\nAlation, Inc. is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
