Reporting to the Director of Data Engineering, you will design and implement scalable, complex data pipelines and infrastructure to power our data products.\nAs a senior member of the team, you’ll collaborate closely with data scientists, software engineers, and product managers to enhance the reliability and performance of our data systems, while influencing the enterprise-wide data architecture. You will also mentor junior engineers and drive best practices in data engineering.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable, cost-effective, and reliable data pipelines for structured and unstructured data.\nTranslate business needs into technical requirements and ensure alignment with product and customer success teams.\nArchitect and implement data storage solutions (data lakes, warehouses, real-time processing systems) and supporting cloud infrastructure.\nOptimize pipelines for performance, scalability, cost-efficiency, and automation.\nEnsure data quality, integrity, and security across all systems.\nEvaluate and adopt new tools, technologies, and processes.\nPartner with DevOps and engineering teams for seamless deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.\nDocument workflows and processes for knowledge sharing and maintainability.\nStay current on industry trends in data engineering, ML, and cloud computing.\nProvide mentorship and technical leadership to junior engineers.\nWhat You Bring to the Team\n5+ years of hands-on experience with data software development.\nExperience with AlayaCare’s stack (Python, PHP, Vue.JS, AWS).\nBachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, mathematics, or related fields.\nStrong skills in DBT, SQL, Python, Snowflake, Iceberg, Spark, and AWS (ECS, S3, Aurora, RDS).\nExperience with streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, and Flink.\nFamiliarity with Docker and Kubernetes.\nExpertise in dimensional data modeling and semantic layer design.\nStrong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nExperience in Agile development methodologies.\nMindset encouraging transparency, accountability, and trust.\nExperience in healthcare, home health, or medical devices is an asset.\nFamiliarity with data governance concepts & tools is an asset.\nBilingual in French and English is an asset.\nWhy Join AlayaCare? \nWork With Purpose \nAt AlayaCare, you’ll help build technology that empowers care providers and improves outcomes for patients and families.
