This position is hybrid and located in Bangalore, India.\nPosition Summary\nThe Senior Network Engineer is a senior technical role responsible for the reliability, security, lifecycle, and strategic direction of the company’s corporate network across the global enterprise. The role includes enterprise firewall management, monitoring, troubleshooting which adhere to our standards and governance. This role provides hands-on engineering and operational support, and partners with a globally distributed virtual team to deliver secure, resilient, and scalable network services.\nThis position requires proven experience, strong technical depth, platform ownership, sound operational judgment, and the ability to guide engineers, service providers, and business partners through complex changes and incidents across multiple regions and time zones.\nKey Responsibilities\nSenior Network Engineering\nDesign, implement, support, and optimize enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, Cloud, and network security services.\nEngineer routing, switching, segmentation, and connectivity solutions that support business requirements while maintaining security, resiliency, and operational simplicity.\nContribute to the firewall platform strategy, architecture, engineering standards, lifecycle roadmap, and operational health across the global enterprise.\nServe as a technical escalation point for firewall architecture, policy design, network segmentation, remote-access and site-to-site VPN services, threat prevention, logging, and centralized management.\nTroubleshoot complex network and application-connectivity issues using packet capture, flow analysis, logs, telemetry, and protocol-level diagnostics.\nLead or contribute to global network projects, technology refreshes, site deployments, integrations, divestitures, and transformation initiatives.\nMonitor network capacity, availability, and performance; recommend improvements before service quality or business operations are affected.\nCreate and maintain network diagrams, configuration standards, implementation plans, test plans, operational procedures, and support documentation.\nParticipate in on-call or escalation to support high-severity incidents when required.\nGlobal Virtual Team Leadership and Collaboration\nWork effectively within a virtual network engineering team distributed across regions and time zones.\nProvide technical leadership, mentoring, and peer review without relying on direct reporting authority.\nCoordinate cross-region work, handoffs, maintenance activities, incident response, and knowledge transfer to support consistent global operations.\nCommunicate complex technical topics clearly to engineers, cybersecurity teams, infrastructure partners, business stakeholders, and leadership.\nBuild productive working relationships with internal teams, external partners, vendors, and contractors in a multicultural environment.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s or associate degree in information technology, engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.\n7 or more years of progressive experience engineering and supporting enterprise-class networks in a large, multi-site environment.\nDemonstrated experience owning or leading an enterprise firewall platform, including architecture, operations, lifecycle management, standards, and governance.\nAdvanced experience with next-generation firewalls and centralized management platforms; Fortinet, Cisco, Palo experience is highly preferred.\nStrong knowledge of firewall policy, security zones, network segmentation, NAT, VPN, IDS/IPS, logging, high availability, upgrades, and troubleshooting.\nAdvanced enterprise routing and switching experience, including BGP, EIGRP or OSPF, VRF, VLAN, 802.1Q, spanning tree, QoS, and SD-WAN concepts.\nHands-on experience with enterprise LAN, WAN, campus, branch, data center, and cloud connectivity and equipment in a global environment.\nProven ability to lead complex technical changes and resolve high-impact incidents using disciplined change, incident, and problem-management practices.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate across cultures, functions, and time zones.\nPreferred Qualifications\nCCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, CCIE, FCA, FCP or comparable vendor certifications.\nExperience with Cisco Switching, Meraki, and Fortinet Firewalls.\nExperience working with globally distributed technical teams.\nExperience with complex routing design and segmentation.\nCore Competencies\nPlatform ownership and accountability\nTechnical leadership and influence\nEnterprise architecture and operational discipline\nSecurity and risk-based decision making\nAnalytical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis\nClear communication and documentation\nGlobal collaboration and cultural awareness\nCustomer focus, prioritization, and sound judgment\nWork Requirements\n\nAbility to work across global time zones as business needs require.\nAbility to participate in planned after-hours maintenance and incident escalation.\nAbility to travel as needed.\nBenefits of Joining Albemarle\nCompetitive compensation\n\nComprehensive benefits package\n\nA diverse array of resources to support you professionally and personally.\n\nWe are partners to one another in pioneering new ways to be better for ourselves, our teams, and our communities.
