This role designs and procures tools and fixtures, provides technical support to operators, creates assembly planning, and collaborates with Engineering to integrate design-for-assembly concepts. The position also applies lean principles, investigates root causes of defects, and drives continuous improvement to enhance quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.\nEssential Job Functions:\nPrepare manufacturing cost estimates, including raw materials, purchased parts, machining, inspection, assembly, testing, and support labor.\nReview design layouts and engineering drawings; recommend modifications to improve manufacturability.\nDevelop and maintain work instructions and process documentation in alignment with ISO 9001 requirements.\nPrepare operation sheets and manufacturing/assembly instructions detailing sequence of operations, tooling, machines, inspection processes, and test requirements.\nIncorporate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), advanced ECOs, notices of revision, and approved engineering change proposals into operations and work instructions.\nMonitor and refine assembly and manufacturing instruction sheets to improve departmental efficiency.\nServe as the manufacturing lead supporting Design-to-Cost initiatives.\nEvaluate material flow, assembly, and testing layouts to recommend facility modifications that improve operational efficiency.\nInitiate requisitions for tools, fixtures, and equipment; assist Purchasing with specifications and procurement.\nDevelop corrective and preventative action plans as required.\nPerform duties associated with major build-to-print production programs and small development programs.\nPrepare estimates-to-complete for assigned programs and support reporting on cost or schedule discrepancies.\n\nSchedule:\nThe standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8-10 hour shifts, with the flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed based on workload demands.\nNote: The duties and responsibilities described on this document are not necessarily a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned to the employee from time to time; and the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands.\nRequired Qualifications:\nAssociate degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field or equivalent practical experience.\n2+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process improvement, or related technical roles.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).\nAbility to work in a team environment with strong communication skills.\nFlexibility to adapt to peak workloads and tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.\nMust be a U.S citizen.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with ERP/MRP systems such as ECI MAX, SAP, or Epicor.\nProficiency with Creo, SolidWorks, 3D modeling, 2D drawings, and GD&T.\nLean certifications (Lean Expert, Green Belt, Black Belt).\nPhysical Requirements:\nProlonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.\nMust be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.\nWorking Conditions\nOnsite position with office environment and occasional exposure to manufacturing areas.\n\nReasonable Accommodations\nTo accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily.
