We know defense and we know aircraft systems.\nThe Cabling Project Lead oversees on-site cabling installation projects to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and according to project specifications, customer requirements, and industry standards.This role leads technician teams, monitors installation quality, troubleshoots technical issues, and coordinates project materials, equipment and schedules.\n\nEssential Job Functions:\n\nLead and coordinate multiple teams of cabling technicians to ensure work is completed efficiently and on schedule. \nInspect installation work to ensure quality standards are met and correct deficiencies as needed.\nIdentify and assist in the development of project-driven or customer requested change order needs. \nStop unsafe work practices and ensure compliance with safety requirements.\nEffectively attend and participate in construction and customer meetings to discuss project progress and resolve issues.\nUnderstand and execute proper in-depth troubleshooting methods .\nEffectively review the project scope of work and drawings to assist engineering, if needed, during install. \nUnderstand and adhere to industry codes and standards.\nRoutinely perform approved visual documentation, through the usage of photography, the installation stages of work performed on a project from start to finish for record keeping purposes of the project.\nEffectively train and guide technicians on proper installation and testing procedures.\nUnderstand and properly test a large pair count copper cable/set up and terminate fiber optic cabling with multiple types of field installable connections (pre-polished, epoxy, hot-melt, etc.) with LC, ST, SC type connectors from differing product manufacturers such as Corning, Belden, SYSTIMAX, Uniprise, Leviton, Ortronics, Panduit, Hubbell or other major industry manufacture. \nCompetently test fiber using Lockheed Martin specified tools (OTDR, OLSP, etc.) \nAttention to detail and strict adherence to best installation practices\nFacilitate cable installation logistics including quoting and ordering of materials, equipment rentals, equipment and parts return and repairs (RMAs), resource scheduling / coordination, and compliance to local jurisdiction building and low voltage electrical requirements.\n\nSchedule:\nM-TH, 6am-5pm EST. Ability to work after hours during the week and weekends, as the workload requires.\nNote: The duties and responsibilities described on this document are not necessarily a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned to the employee from time to time; and the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands.\nQualifications, Education, and Experience Required:\nHigh School diploma or equivalent.\n5-8 years of hands-on experience in telecommunications or structure cabling, including supervisory experience.\nWork experience using MS Office to include Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams; ability to use other software programs to access company data and information.\nStrong knowledge of copper and fiber optic cabling installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting.\nAbility to read and interpret project drawings and scopes of work.\nStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to coordinate project materials, equipment and resources.\nCommitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship, and attention to detail.\nPhysical Requirements:\nMust be able to lift up to 50 pounds at time\nAbility to work at heights on ladders\nMust be able to walk very large job sites regularly\nWorking Conditions\nThe position involves occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions, wet or humid conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, and loud noise levels.\nReasonable Accommodations\nTo accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily.
