The ideal candidate is a builder and process architect-someone who thrives in ambiguous environments and can design, implement, and scale practical solutions that enable growth and compliance.\n\nEssential Job Functions:\nServe as the company’s lead Configuration Management (CM) subject matter expert\nLead full lifecycle CM activities, including:\nConfiguration identification\nChange management\nStatus accounting\nBaseline management\nConfiguration audits (FCA/PCA)\n\nDevelop and maintain CM processes aligned with:\nEIA-649\nMIL-HDBK-61\nAS9100\n\nEstablish governance structures that support engineering scalability, production readiness, and regulatory compliance\nDevelop policies, procedures, work instructions, and training materials to drive adoption\nDesign and implement end-to-end engineering workflows, including:\nEngineering Change Requests (ECRs)\nEngineering Change Orders (ECOs/ECNs)\nRevision control and release management\nPart numbering systems and product baselines\nBill of Materials (BOM) governance\n\nBuild scalable processes that improve efficiency while maintaining traceability and control\nDevelop serialized part tracking and traceability methods supporting manufacturing and quality\nIdentify and implement automation opportunities within CM and engineering workflows\nOwn administration and optimization of SolidWorks PDM Professional\nConfigure and maintain:\nWorkflows and lifecycle states\nRevision schemes and vault structures\nUser permissions and access controls\n\nEnsure integrity and traceability of:\nCAD models and drawings\nBOMs and specifications\nManufacturing data packages\nSoftware and firmware releases\n\nSupport integration and scalability across PLM, PDM, and ERP systems\nFacilitate Configuration Control Board (CCB) and Engineering Review Board activities\nCoordinate engineering releases and change implementation across:\nEngineering\nManufacturing\nQuality\nSupply Chain\nProgram Management\n\nEnsure all changes are properly evaluated, documented, approved, and implemented\nReview technical documentation for release readiness and configuration compliance\nDrive organizational adoption of disciplined configuration and release processes\nLead and support:\nFunctional Configuration Audits (FCA)\nPhysical Configuration Audits (PCA)\n\nSupport AS9100 certification and ongoing compliance initiatives\nEnsure audit readiness for internal, customer, and regulatory audits (including DoD requirements)\nMaintain robust data governance practices to support traceability and contractual compliance\nSupport controlled technical data handling, including export-controlled or classified environments\nNote: The duties and responsibilities described on this document are not necessarily a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned to the employee from time to time; and the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Technical Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)\n7+ years of experience in:\nConfiguration Management\nProduct Lifecycle Management (PLM/PDM)\nEngineering operations or technical data management\nExperience within aerospace, defense, robotics, or advanced manufacturing environments\nProven experience building or transforming CM systems and engineering processes\nStrong hands-on experience with:\nSolidWorks\nSolidWorks PDM (Standard or Professional)\nPLM/PDM systems\nDeep knowledge of:\nEngineering change management\nConfiguration baselines and revision control\nBOM management and product traceability\nAudit and compliance processes\nExperience leading cross-functional change processes and facilitating CCBs\n\nMust be a U.S citizen.\n\nPreferred Requirements:\nExperience as a primary or sole CM leader in a growing organization\nExperience supporting AS9100 certification efforts\nFamiliarity with:\nEnterprise PLM systems\nSoftware configuration management tools (e.g., SVN or similar)\nERP/MRP systems and serialized inventory tracking\n\nExperience supporting software and firmware configuration management\nExperience in high-growth or fast-paced engineering environments\nActive security clearance or ability to obtain one\n\nReasonable Accommodations\nTo accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, each essential function satisfactorily.
