Its six thematic areas are climate-smart agriculture and enterprise development; environmental protection and natural resources management; water, sanitation and hygiene; community health and nutrition; orphans and vulnerable children empowerment; and entrepreneurship and skills development.\n\nJob Summary: Lead coordination and implementation of project activities in line with the SGCF project design. \n\nKey Duties and Responsibilities: \n\nTake the lead in coordination and implementation of the project activities as spelt out in the SGCF project design.\n\nCoordinate Field officers in the mobilization of communities and undertake participatory review of household PIPs, Community Visions, and CAPs\n\nCoordinate Field officers in the mobilization of communities to organize PIP harvesting workshops and seasonal PIP/CAP reviews\n\nCoordinate field officers to document community priorities, lessons, and follow-up actions\n\nCoordinate with government technical officers and lower local government structures on project activities.\n\nTake the lead in organizing district coordination meetings, reflection workshops, and joint monitoring VIsits.\n\nProvide technical guidance and support to project staff in the implementation of project activities in line with the SGCF project design, AID mandate, and strategic plan.\n\nTrain and provide refresher training to project staff to enable them to offer technical support to smallholder farmers to achieve higher income and resilient livelihoods to climate and market deficiencies.\n\nDevelop project operational work plans/ budgets and write progress reports in line with SGCF project design and objectives.\n\nContribute to the development of project newsletters, magazines & articles\n\nDevelop and maintain an updated database of the project activities.\n\nConduct midterm and annual project staff performance appraisals in line with the AID Human Resource Manual.\n\nQualifications, Skills and Experience: \n\nPreferably a Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences, Agricultural Rural Innovation, Agricultural Land Use Management, Environment and Natural Resources Management, Agroforestry, Agribusiness Management, or Community and Rural Development.\n\nAt least four years’ experience in sustainable agriculture and livelihood programmes, providing technical assistance in implementing diverse or integrated crop and land-management practices.\n\nExperience working in a rural highland environment using bottom-up, participatory approaches.\n\nAbility to develop training manuals and train farmers.\n\nExperience with participatory research and evaluating farming-system performance.\n\nKnowledge and experience in implementing the Participatory Integrated Planning (PIP) approach is an added advantage.\n\nAbility to establish networks and coordinate and collaborate with organisations and partners.\n\nDemonstrated capacity to support, advise and guide institutional networking with Local Government and other stakeholders.\n\nStrong leadership and interpersonal skills, commitment to teamwork and working across disciplines, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.\n\nAbility to ride a motorcycle and possession of Class A and Class B driving licences are added advantages.\n\nExcellent written and spoken English.
