This position offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that’s constantly evolving.\nWhat you will be doing\nTo provide a safe and clean work environment to all visitors and associates at the Melrose Park DC. Having a 24hour, 7 day a week responsibility to manage the warehouse facilities, equipment, and Building and Facility associates to ensure accurate, economical and efficient operation. Ensure that all functions are performed within Company, Distribution Center, Department, and Federal, State and Local agency guidelines.\nThis position will be based in Melrose Park, IL.\nMain responsibilities:\nResponsible for managing the repair and maintenance of the retail MHE (material handling equipment) fleet. This requires communicating repairs and replacements with store personnel. \nSet and monitor maintenance performance targets both short and long term.\nStay abreast on current and future Federal, State, and Municipal laws and regulations, collective bargaining agreements and company work requirements regarding maintenance and warehouse operation.\nManage labor relations by dealing with grievances, corporate, warehouse employees, and union business agents.\nEnsure that all facility and equipment meet regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, USDA, FDA, NFPA, etc.) \nEnsure that all department personnel are trained in the safe operation and repairs of all equipment. This includes emergency tasks and procedures\nManage capital development, cost estimation and project management.\nEnsure safe operation of all refrigeration systems (ammonia, boilers, chillers, etc.), with oversight of PSM (process safety management) \nEnsure all CMMS data is current and accurate. This would include assets, purchasing, inventory and \nfor department supervision, engineers, mechanics, and associated personnel. \nDevelop a work environment within distribution that promotes trust, teamwork quality and safety. \nAssist in the creation, review and modification of existing workflow procedures and tasks.\nWe are looking for candidates who possess the following:\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required\n4 years management experience (preferably in refrigerated distribution)\nStrong overall knowledge of anhydrous ammonia refrigeration systems, process safety management (PSM / OSHA), and risk management plan (RMP / EPA) compliance\nMust have working knowledge of (National Fire Protection) NFPA 20, NFPA 13, and NFPA E-70 (Shock Hazard and Arc Flash)\nPossess a skilled labor aptitude to understand the mechanical, electrical, piping, and structural equipment\nWorking knowledge of building automation systems \nProficient in understanding blueprints and electrical schematics\nExcellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility\nExperience in a union environment (strong labor relations skills preferred)\nStrong interpersonal and team building skills.
