This position offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that’s constantly evolving.\nMain responsibilities:\nPlan warehouse work operations in accordance with shipments, received, store orders, perish-ability, and stock rotation requirements. \nSchedule and assign warehouse crew and equipment to meet schedules to handle daily volume efficiently. \nSupervise warehouse crews in a unionized environment.\nSupervise truck loading, order selecting and receiving. \nAbility to coach, train and lead work teams to achieve performance as it relates to specialization in receiving, processing, storage, order assembly or loading. \nEnsure adherence to Safeway policies, procedures and practices.\nTake inventories as required. Report and clear indications of \"out of stock\" or \"overstocked\" conditions developing. \nAdministrative duties as related to warehouse functions. \nDesign, monitor, and maintain a safe working environment through compliance of safety programs. \nSupervise minor maintenance and sanitation as needed. \nInvolved in and recommend hiring, promotions, terminations, performance appraisals and labor standards. \nMaintain a high level of customer service for retail and public customers. \nCultivate a positive and innovative work environment. \nStrive for fast continuous systematic planned improvement.\nWe are looking for candidates who possess the following:\n4 year college degree in Logistics, Business, or related field preferred. \n3-5 years experience in warehousing. \n2-4 years previous supervisory experience in warehousing preferred. \nUnderstanding of warehouse regulations regarding quality and safety. \nExcellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility. \nGood analytical and problem solving skills. \nConsiderable initiative and frequent analysis necessary in daily work. \nExcellent customer service skills with both internal and external customers. \nProven ability to define performance measures related to the business and hold associates accountable for the same. \nAbility to analyze cost performance data to improve operations and reduce costs. \nStrong interpersonal, communication, and team building skills.\nMust possess the following traits: proactive, risk taker, change agent and strong sense of courage. \nMust be comfortable at giving and receiving open feedback. \nAble to supervise a medium size group of warehouse employees.\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint., Most departments schedule supervisors to work 4 days a week and work 12-12.5 hours a day. \nWillingness to work evenings, night shifts, weekends and holidays.\nWe also provide a variety of benefits including:\nCompetitive wages paid weekly\nAccess to up to 50% of your earned wages before payday, via our partnership with Stream\nAssociate discounts\n Health and financial well-being benefits for eligible associates (Medical, Dental, 401k and more!)\n Time off (vacation, holidays, sick pay).
