The Maintenance Mechanic also manages external maintenance vendors by sourcing contractors, coordinating work, and ensuring compliance with safety and company standards. Additionally, the role supports equipment installations by setting up electrical and utility connections, collaborating with operations and engineering teams, and ensuring all work meets applicable codes and regulations. Accurate documentation, reporting, and maintenance of facility records and schematics are essential responsibilities. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, strong attention to detail, basic computer skills, effective communication abilities, and the ability to work within a cGMP-regulated environment.\nOn-Site Expectations\n100% on-site position.\n2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:00pm - 11:30pm.\nResponsibilities\nFacility Maintenance & Preventive Care\nPerform general maintenance and repair of facility systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC equipment.\nConduct routine inspections to identify equipment issues and ensure preventive maintenance activities are completed.\nTroubleshoot facility and equipment problems to minimize downtime and maintain operational readiness.\nSupport compliance with safety standards, cGMP requirements, and facility maintenance procedures.\nEquipment Installation & Technical Support\nInstall electrical connections, utility lines, and related infrastructure for new equipment and machinery.\nCoordinate installation activities with Operations and Engineering teams to support production needs.\nVerify all installations comply with applicable codes, regulations, and safety requirements.\nProvide technical input during equipment planning, layout, and implementation projects.\nVendor & Contractor Management\nSource and coordinate qualified external vendors for specialized maintenance and repair services.\nSchedule, monitor, and inspect contractor work to ensure quality, safety, and compliance standards are met.\nMaintain vendor relationships, service records, and performance metrics.\nTrack maintenance-related costs and support vendor performance evaluations.\nDocumentation & Reporting\nMaintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment installations. \nPrepare reports on equipment condition, maintenance trends, and facility performance. \nUpdate facility and equipment schematics following modifications or installation projects. \nUtilize computerized systems to document work activities and support operational recordkeeping.\nQualifications\nHigh School Diploma or GED required.\nAt least three years of experience in the pharmaceutical cGMP environment is required for consideration.\nTechnical certificate, vocational training, military technical training, or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Maintenance, Mechatronics, HVAC, Facilities Maintenance, or a related technical field preferred.\nDemonstrated proficiency with mechanical troubleshooting and resolution processes.\nOSHA safety training and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) training preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nAbility to complete and maintain cGMP and facility safety training requirements.\nEquivalent combination of education, technical training, and relevant maintenance experience may be considered.\nStrong attention to detail with the ability to identify issues, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with established procedures.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.\nDemonstrated ability to support continuous improvement initiatives and drive quality-focused process enhancements.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Quality, Operations, and Production teams.\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
