The Packaging Engineer translates client requirements into practical specifications, oversees changes to packaging systems, and supports serialization and compliance in a GMP environment. Acting as a technical expert, the engineer troubleshoots packaging issues, collaborates with operations to optimize performance, and trains team members on new packaging processes.\nOn-Site Expectations\n100% on-site position.\n1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.\nResponsibilities\nPackaging Design & Specification Management\nDesign and manage packaging systems from concept through implementation (bottles, labels, cartons, pallet configurations).\nDevelop, review, and maintain detailed packaging specifications (materials, dimensions, graphics).\nTranslate customer requirements into clear, executable packaging solutions.\nEvaluate packaging components and assess impacts of design or material changes.\nOwn full lifecycle of packaging specs, including updates, validation, and rollout.\nChange Control & Project Execution\nLead and document specification changes, ensuring proper approvals and compliance.\nCoordinate updates with clients, including drug application holders.\nSupport packaging-related projects, implementing changes to meet project goals.\nManage documentation, validation, and execution of packaging modifications.\nEnsure all changes align with regulatory (GMP/serialization) requirements.\nTechnical Support & Process Optimization\nServe as SME for packaging systems and serialization processes.\nTroubleshoot packaging and equipment issues to minimize production disruptions.\nAnalyze production needs and constraints to recommend practical solutions.\nCollaborate with operations to improve packaging line efficiency and performance.\nProvide technical support for product-specific packaging challenges.\nCross-Functional Collaboration & Training\nAct as liaison between clients, operations, and internal stakeholders.\nCommunicate technical requirements and project updates clearly across teams.\nTrain team members on packaging systems, processes, and best practices.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency.\nContribute to a collaborative, solution-oriented team environment.\nQualifications\nAt least one year of work in a Pharmaceutical cGMP environment is required for consideration.\nBachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Electrical, or related engineering discipline) required. \n2+ years of pharmaceutical experience.\nExperience in a pharmaceutical cGMP manufacturing, packaging, OSD, or sterile setting required.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze data, identify problems, and develop solutions.\nUnderstanding of manufacturing processes and systems. Knowledge of various manufacturing technologies and equipment.\nEffective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with teams, communicate technical information clearly, and collaborate with stakeholders.\nProject management skills. Ability to plan, organize, and manage projects effectively.\nFamiliarity with safety regulations and procedures.
