For this Scientist I - Chemistry position, HPLC, TOC, UV, osmolality, density, and pH are commonly employed in the described testing. Test methods employed may be compendial (i.e. USP, EP) or proprietary (client supplied or developed by The Company).\nOn-Site Expectations\n100% on-site position.\n1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm.\nResponsibilities\nPerforms one or more of the following techniques: assays, potencies, pH, TOC, moisture content, identification, particle size, and various other wet chemistry and instrument-based measurements.\nEvaluates and interprets generated data.\nAnalyzes information for technical correctness and accuracy.\nUnderstands the theoretical basis of methods/experiments.\nPerforms technical review of common laboratory data.\nMaintains laboratory stock of reagents, clean glassware, and removes expired solutions.\nSolves problems of diverse scope in which analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.\nMaintains working knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, and scientific methodologies necessary to perform assigned tasks.\nAssists in removal of hazardous waste, routine equipment cleaning and restocking of consumable products and reagents.\nEffectively uses various laboratory software packages (Empower3, ProCal, Master Control, ELN, etc.).\nMaintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment free of safety hazards.\nSafely handles potent compounds.\nEnsures timely completion and compliance with cGMP and all other relevant company training requirements.\nOther duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field with course work in Chemistry with 2+ years related work experience.\nOr Associates degree in Chemistry or related field with 6+ years related experience.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nGood verbal and written communication and documentation skills required.\nGood detail orientation and organizational skills required.\nGood problem-solving and basic trouble-shooting ability required.\nStrong knowledge of Laboratory equipment and safety required.\nStrong knowledge of Laboratory Documentation is required.\nWorking knowledge of cGMP in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment preferred.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.\nTravel Expectations\nUp to 5% travel required.\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment\nThe physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
