The Scientist III is also required to work on method development/method validation projects. For this position, HPLC, LC/MS and GC/MS based methodologies are commonly employed in the described testing. Test methods employed may be compendial (i.e. USP, EP) or proprietary (client supplied or developed by The Company).\nOn-Site Expectations\n100% on-site position.\n1st Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm.\nResponsibilities\nUses advanced skills in multiple techniques: HPLC, LC/MS and GC/MS assays for residual solvents, nitrosamines, genotoxic impurities, identification and characterization of unknown impurities.\nDevelops analytical methodology for analysis via HPLC, LC/MS and GC/MS.\nPerforms quantitative and qualitative mass spectrometry work using specific instrument types (i.e. triple quadrupole and QTOF systems)\nPerforms GMP review of solutions and chromatography.\nDevelops and validates methods, test procedures, protocols, and reports.\nUnderstands the theoretical basis of methods/experiments.\nMaintains strong knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, and scientific methodologies necessary to perform assigned tasks.\nAnalyzes information for technical correctness and accuracy.\nEvaluates and interprets data.\nAchieves results by solving problems of a diverse scope.\nInteracts with clients and participates in regulatory agency and/or client audits.\nLeads investigations and root cause analysis.\nDrives initiatives outside of standard work function.\nMaintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment free of safety hazards.\nSafely handles potent compounds.\nEnsures timely completion and compliance with cGMP and all other relevant company training requirements.\nOther duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Chemistry with 8+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience, or Ph.D. with 2+ years of experience required.\n2+ years of experience cGMP in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment required.\nCDMO experience is preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nExcellent verbal and written communication and documentation skills required.\nExcellent detail orientation and organizational skills required.\nExcellent problem-solving and basic trouble-shooting ability required.\nExcellent knowledge of laboratory equipment and safety required.\nExpert knowledge of Laboratory Documentation is required.\nAbility to develop and implement new methods/processes required.\nMass spectrometry (GC/MS, LC/MS, triple quadrupole, QTOF) skills and quantitative/qualitative work experience.\nAbility to plan and manage multiple tasks for timely achievement of results.\nWorking knowledge of cGMP in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment required.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.\nTravel Expectations\nUp to 5% domestic travel.\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
