The Visual Inspection Technician handles and inspects manufactured products by following standard operation procedures (SOPs) and batch records in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). In addition, the Visual Inspection Technician employs acceptable techniques while working in manufacturing environments, including PPE gowning.\nOn-Site Expectations\n100% on-site position.\n2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 2:00pm - 10:30pm.\nResponsibilities\nFollows applicable SOPs and cGMPs to perform assigned duties and tasks.\nEnsures timely completion and compliance with cGMP and all other relevant company training requirements.\nConducts visual inspection of sterile liquids in accordance with regulatory agency guidelines.\nVisually identifies debris, air lines, and other defects in sterile liquids.\nDocuments activities in real time on controlled documentation and legibly, per SOPs and cGMPs.\nPerforms component counting and basic math calculations.\nPerforms cleaning of rooms, tools, and equipment.\nPerforms specific visual inspections per SOPs.\nEnsures product meets appearance specifications before sending the product for packaging.\nPerforms bulk packaging for product vials for shipment to another facility.\nOperates material handling equipment.\nWorks occasional hours outside of scheduled shift based on business needs, which may include weekend work.\n\nOther duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED required. Associate degree preferred.\nEntry level, 1+ years of relevant work experience strongly preferred OR BioWork certification from an accredited institution.\nRelevant work experience in roles with visual inspection in regulated environments (i.e. medical field, electronics, aerospace, automotive production) are applicable. \ncGMP or prior work experience in a regulated environment preferred.\nPrior pharmaceutical or CDMO experience preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\n20/20 correctable near-sighted vision in both eyes, tested annually required.\nAbility to see and distinguish colors required.\nAbility to perform basic math calculations, including product accountability calculations and rounding required.\nAbility to read and comprehend detailed written instructions required.\nAbility to move materials throughout the facility using appropriate methods and equipment required.\nExcellent verbal and written communication, documentation, detail orientation and organizational skills required.\nProficiency in basic computing skills required.\nAwareness of or prior experience with cGMP practices and procedures preferred.\nTravel Expectations\nUp to 5% domestic travel.\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment\nThe physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met or encountered by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment for specific job duties to be performed.
