You have the power to shape things to make them better\nAbout the Role:\nThis position is responsible for all production activities in the casthouse including casting, sawing, homogenization and associated processes to meet all customer shipping and quality requirements. This position is responsible for equipment assets and human resources on shift.\nKey responsibilities:\nDirect metal flow throughout the Cast House based on production needs.\n\nSupport, promote, and implement all EHS guidelines and practices as established for the department.\n\nSafely cast and deliver a quality product that meets all applicable customer requirements while minimizing costs.\n\nDirectly responsible for product flow from the furnaces to the casting units and finishing processes.\n\nLead the operation of the vertical casting units, the in-line casting units, continuous rod caster, homogenization furnaces, the sawing/inspection operations including troubleshooting with mechanical and electrical maintenance staff.\n\nEnsure that all casting and sawing practices and procedures are adhered to and stay in sync with quality system standards.\n\nMaintain relationships with other casthouse supervisors on shift, casthouse engineers, scrap coordinator and production planner/shipping coordinator.\n\nHandle labor relations on shift in accordance with Alcoa policy including first step grievances and discipline.\n\nProvide problem-solving information to Cast House furnace operators and other shift supervisors in order to prevent off-grade production.\n\nParticipate in quality audits\n\nWhat you can bring to the role:\nHigh school diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required.\n\nManagement experience within an industrial environment.\n\nProven knowledge of aluminum casting and downstream processing preferred, but not required.\n\nMust have strong computer skills, including MS Excel, MS Word and MS Outlook\n\nEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.
