Be part of it and shape your world.\nAbout the Role\nAre you ready to play a critical role in protecting people, assets and operations across Alcoa’s WA Mining business?\nAs an Emergency Services Officer based across our WA Mining operations at Huntly, you will provide specialist emergency response support, pre-hospital care and technical advice to help our teams prepare for, respond to and recover from emergency situations. This is a permanent position based on a 2 days on, 2 nights on and 5 days off roster.\nYou will be empowered to lead emergency response activities, support operational readiness and work closely with site teams, Emergency Response Teams and external emergency services to help maintain a safe and resilient workplace.\nIn this hands-on and varied role, you will:\nRespond to and control emergency incidents, alarms and requests for assistance in line with site emergency plans and procedures.\nProvide pre-hospital care, patient treatment and emergency medical response support during incidents.\nCoordinate and support the onsite Emergency Response Team, including drills, training and operational debriefs.\nMaintain emergency response equipment, appliances and systems to ensure operational readiness.\nSupport high-risk work through emergency planning, rescue plans, workplace inspections and safety advice.\nAssist with site access, asset protection and liaison with internal stakeholders, contractors, visitors and external agencies.\nWhat’s on offer\nAttractive remuneration and variable bonus plan.\nFamily friendly rosters that allow you to be home after each shift.\nGenerous leave entitlements of five weeks annual leave.\n18 weeks Parental leave for primary caregivers.\nOne additional paid Alcoa Flexi Day.\nAlcoa Live Well program offering travel, lifestyle, health and wellbeing discounts.\nGenerous leave entitlements including a leisure a day off every 4-week period.\nSalary packaging for a novated car lease, employee share plan and superannuation options.\nWhat you can bring to the role\nCertificate III in Emergency Response and Rescue or Certificate III in Public Safety, including relevant rescue and firefighting units of competency.\nCertificate IV in Health Care, current Provide First Aid, drug and alcohol testing competency, and a Heavy Rigid licence.\nDemonstrated capability in emergency response, rescue disciplines and pre-hospital care.\nStrong communication, organisation and decision-making skills, particularly in emergency situations.\nAbility to build positive working relationships with employees, contractors, site leaders, medical teams and external emergency services.\nA strong commitment to health, safety, operational readiness and maintaining the fitness required to safely perform the role.\nAdditional information\nInterviews may progress prior to the closing date, although all applications will be considered.\nYou will only be contacted if you are shortlisted for an interview, this process can take up to four weeks from the closing date.\nBe part of shaping our organisation and join us in building a legacy of excellence for future generations.\nAbout the Location\nHuntly is one of our two bauxite mines in Western Australia. Established in 1976 and located east of North Dandalup in WA, it is the world’s second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Alcoa’s Pinjarra alumina refinery. Bauxite ore from Alcoa’s Huntly and Willowdale mines helps to produce almost half of Australia’s alumina and approximately 19 per cent of Australia’s aluminium.
